Vets4Pets raising money for the Cats Protection kitty!

Staff at Vets4Pets Barnsley are taking part in a 10K run to raise money for their local Cats Protection branch. The group, who are of varying running experience but firm friends, are taking part in the Great Yorkshire Run in October.

“A few of the team here at Vets4Pets decided to take on a new challenge “ says Practice Partner and Veterinary Surgeon Caroline Richards “We already work closely with Cats Protection Barnsley and think they do an amazing job so they were a  great choice to raise money for.

Myself, veterinary surgeons Andrea Roberts and Jane Sedgewick and receptionist Louise Booker all run on a regular basis and we have been training hard in preparation for the 10K distance. I think we’d all like to cross the finish line in a good time and as there is a group of us it’s getting quite competitive as to who will finish first and who will raise the most money for the Cats Protection!”

Pauline Hepworth from the Cats Protection said: “Here at the Cats Protection Barnsley we have been working hard for 10 years to promote responsible cat ownership and we re-home 150-160 cats a year.  By fundraising for Cats Protection Caroline and her colleagues at Vets4Pets are helping cats and kittens in this area. Just £15 feeds a Cats Protection cat or kitten for a whole month, so even the smallest donation helps. ”

Caroline and her team will be taking part in the Great Yorkshire Run in Sheffield on the 9th October. Anyone wishing to sponsor them can call into the Vets4Pets practice on Wilthorpe Road, Barnsley or visit: www.justgiving.com/Caroline-Richards0
