Advanced services

We have invested considerably in our team and kit to make a number of advanced services available to our clients. We also accept referrals from other practices.

Orthopaedics and fracture repair

Our veterinary team have undertaken advanced training to allow us to perform orthopaedic surgery in our practice. If your pet develops an abnormality involving their skeleton or joints, such as elbow dysplasia, a patella (kneecap) that gets stuck, or a torn cruciate ligament, an orthopaedic procedure may help them.

In the last 12 years our practice has grown from just 3 members to where it is now, a 6 vet, 5 registered vet nurse, 6 client care advisor & 1 practice manager, practice. We’re very proud of the team and their commitment to you all. 

Martin is our Clinical Director. He was involved in the practice long before it opened, being heavily involved in the design and layout of the practice to ensure we could give the best clinical service in safety and comfort.

As Clinical Director he sets the tone of the practice clinically, developing and monitoring the clinical standards and protocols to ensure we are consistently and repeatably offering the best for you and your pets in the safest way.
Even if you don't see him for your visit he will likely be involved in your pets care in some way or other. He runs our clinical club and case review sessions.

He also is involved in training, supporting and developing the skills of the rest of the clinical team.

 

What's the best pet name that you've ever come across? 
Never met it but I've always thought Andrew is an amusing name for a horse 

What is your favourite famous animal?  
Lorenzo the llama.

What's the best aspect of working for Vets4Pets?  
Obviously the clients! Also the wonderful team I work with

At home Robyn is the owner of 3 cats, 2 dogs, 3 chickens and 3 children.

Keely is an RVN and Clinical Care Supervisor. She began with the practice as a student nurse 11 years ago! She qualified from Myerscough with a degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2015 and took on the role of clinical care supervisor 3 years ago. Keely's job is to ensure the clinical standards, set by Martin, are adhered to and maintained by everyone each and every day. She is also an SQP which is a small animal medicines advisor. This allows her to prescribe certain medications to our patients. In addition to all this she is one of our clinical coaches for nursing students.

Keely loves all aspects of my job but especially like the aftercare of patients that have been critically ill, injured or have undergone major surgery. She has a nursing certificate in emergency medicine. As well as the immediate aftercare, Keely loves seeing the recovery process in the days and weeks to come.

I'm Claire one of the vet nurses here. I started with the practice as a student nurse almost 7 years ago and qualified just over 4 years ago. I am also an SQP which allows me to advise and prescribe certain medications to my patients.
I am working towards a certificate in nutrition so I am able to run clinics surrounding all things food related, whether you have a fussy pet, one with allergies or a pet with specific dietary requirements or are simply struggling with their weight. I am also a clinical coach. 
I love my job and especially favour scrubbing in to assist the vets with complex surgical procedures and stitching up the patients.

Becky trained with us as a student but was unfortunately we didn't have a vacancy to join the team when she qualified. We are delighted that our continued growth has now given us the opportunity to have Becky return full time as an RVN.

She is passionate about inpatient care and ensuring the highest standards are met. She is a clinical coach to our student nurses and enjoys spending time developing their knowledge and skills. 

At home she has a number of bunny rabbit's and is facinated by all things Japan and Korea!

Ms Gemma Craig

Gemma has worked at Cleveleys since 2015. Initially she worked front of house as an animal care assistant but has now recently moved more to our ACA role. This allows Gemma to utilise more of her animal skills, having studied animal welfare and behaviour at Myerscough College.

In addition to this she also manages the retail side of things in the practice, sourcing new and exciting stock from a variety of suppliers.
Gemma has also completed a Client Care at Animals End of Life course. End of life is obviously such a distressing time for any owner and grief can affect people in a variety of ways. I'm Simon, Company Director, I opened the practice with Martin back in 2012. When there was only the 3 members of staff. I am extremely proud to have developed the practice and of the 21 members of the team, we now have. It is very satisfying to have evolved the practice to meet the changing needs of our patients and their owners. I am a big believer in teamwork and as well as my day to day office duties I am more than happy to assist in our vast amount of daily cleaning duties and puppy cuddling.

Danielle opened the practice with us in 2012. She has been an important influence in the look and feel of the practice. 

In 2019 she completed a certificate in animal behaviour and is able to offer behavioural consults to our clients. 

She recently took a career break and returned as Compliance Manager for the practice. This role focusses on ensuring we are adhering to our practice standards commitments such as; 'cat friendly' & RCVS accredited practice. It is a role that also involves looking for opportunities to improve the practice experience for our team, our patients and the environment. In 2024 she has now taken over the Practice Manager role from Simon.

I'm Caroline and am the Client Care Supervisor.  I started with the practice in 2013 as a receptionist and was promoted to supervisor a few years later.  I oversee the "front of house" ensuring that everything runs as smoothly as possible and I undertake much of the administration duties, including insurance claims, Health and Safety, Fire Safety and First Aid.
