Amy Saunders MRCVS

Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I am the Joint Venture Partner for Andover Vets4Pets.

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013 having previously worked in universities and colleges teaching Animal Science and studying the health of dairy calves. I also have a Bachelors degree with honours in Animal Science and a Masters degree in Wild Animal Biology.

I grew up in Hampshire and now live locally with my family and two much loved Labradors. I am delighted to be able to work in the community where I live. I am privileged to work with a dedicated and caring support team here, our goal is to ensure your pet receives the time and attention that they deserve. I hope that after each visit you will feel that we looked after your pet as we would our own. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine and have a particular interest in dermatology. I also enjoy treating ‘small furries’ as well as my canine and feline patients!

Katharine Jagger MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I grew up in Leicester, studied maths at Durham University, and then moved to Hampshire where I worked as a software developer for 10 years.

I had always harboured a dream to work as a vet, and in 2010 I was lucky enough to earn a place at Cambridge University Veterinary School, from which I graduated in 2015.

I joined the Vets4Pets Andover team in January 2017.  I have a particular interest in ear problems and internal medicine.

I currently have only one animal, a cat called Kittykat, although until recently I have been a long-time rabbit owner, plus the occasional hamster or gerbil!  Last year I hand-reared five baby hedgehogs before releasing them into the wild.

I live locally with my partner Mike.  In my spare time I enjoy handicrafts and I try with varying degrees of success to keep my garden under some sort of control.

Michal graduated from the University of Life Science in Lublin (Poland) with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2013.

Before joining the Vets4Pets Team in 2017, Michal has worked in other Veterinary Clinics within the Berkshire and Hampshire area. Michal comes from a veterinary family and also worked in his family practice for years before moving to the United Kingdom.

He has previously enjoyed both large and small animal work but is passionate about working towards his goal of providing exceptional care for small animal pets specifically.   His special interests include internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. He has passion for gaining and sharing knowledge.

In his free time Michal enjoys jogging, a good book and watching football. He is a huge cat lover.

Jennifer Buckley RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2008 and joined the Vets4Pets team in September 2017. In my 12 years of veterinary nursing, I have especially enjoyed the theatre and anaesthesia aspects of the role, and becoming a clinical coach to train new nurses.

In my spare time I like to draw and paint any subject I’m inspired by, and take lots of photographs for references. I also have an interest in creating music and would like to get back into horse riding.

Jude Smith RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2006 & then had ten years out to have a family. Before coming back to veterinary I worked as a health care assistant in a nursing home and also with Marie Curie. I loved being a HCA but animals are where my heart lies.

I have two rescue dogs called Blue & Kai. Blue is a Collie X rescued from Romania & Kai is a Bassett X rescued from Spain. I also have two Friesian horses called Jani & Dex. I love going for long walks with my dogs up on the Salisbury plain & I am hoping to do some showing with my young horse this year.

At home I have my husband, Gareth and two sons, Logan & Ashley.

I love spending time with my family & friends and the busy life my animals provide for me.

Melissa Oakley

Student Veterinary Nurse

I moved to Andover after meeting my partner in 2013 from a place called Halesowen, where I had lived all my life.

Not long after I started my role as a receptionist at Vets4Pets when it first opened and took a short six month maternity break in 2014 to have our daughter, who is now three. I came back and began my new role as an animal nurse assistant and have just began a three year diploma to become a qualified veterinary nurse.

I feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity to become qualified in the job I have always wanted to do. I have two lovely children and am due to get married in March 2018.

We have two cats that we rehomed via the practice, called Lotus who is seven and Luna who is five and are both Egyptian Mau’s. In my spare time I like to go to the gym and socialise with family and friends.

I am the morning receptionist at Andover Vets4Pets and I have been here since we opened in June 2013. The work is very rewarding and I really enjoy the interaction with patients and owners alike.

I have always had a love for animals, so much so, that I have two dogs Billy a Beagle, Bella a Springer, a cat, Carrie a rabbit called Olaf and a cockatiel, LB (For Little Bird) at home. I have two daughters Amy & Gracie.

In my spare time, not that there is much of it... I like to read, and my favourite time of the year, is the annual Family holiday to somewhere hot, in an all-inclusive hotel.

I joined Vets4Pets in November 2014. Prior to this I have worked in Customer Service roles.

I love being around animals and at home I have a long haired Dachshund called Mollie, who is very spoilt. I also have a cat called Luna, two Guinea Pigs and three Syrian Hamsters.

In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, spending time with my family and travelling.
