Vets4Pets Kirkby in Ashfield

Meet the team

Julie Ling V4P Sutton in Ashfield

Julie Ling

Veterinary Surgeon and Joint Venture Partner

I am a veterinary surgeon and one of the partners here at Vets4Pets Kirkby in Ashfield. I will be the main vet here and look forward to meeting all of our pets. I qualified as a Veterinary surgeon in 2011 from Nottingham University. Previous to starting at Kirkby I worked at the Sutton in Ashfield Vets4Pets surgery and a small animal practice in Chesterfield.

I enjoy all aspects of first opinion small animal practice but I have a particular interest in diagnostic imaging and internal medicine. I am kept very busy at home with my three dogs, Indie the Border Collie, Dolcie the Akita and Ivy my three legged Cocker Spaniel. I also have a cat, 2 horses, ducks and chickens.

With my fiancé Matt I run a cattery in my back garden.

I studied Veterinary Nursing at Bottle Green Training in Melbourne, Derbyshire and qualified in 2007. I have worked for Vets4Pets since May 2010 and opened Kirkby with Julie in February 2017. I have a keen interest in schedule 3 which is where nurses can perform minor operations such as lump removals and stitch ups.

I live with my husband Stefan and 2 boys, Leo & Charlie. I have a horse called Claude, 3 French Bulldogs, Daphne, Betty & Kevin, 5 cats, Merlin, Neville, Kink, Sabre & Ryan, 2 gerbils and LOTS of reptiles including tortoises, snakes, lizards & tarantula's! Outside of work I enjoy horse riding & spending time with my friends & family.

Hayley Roberts

Head Veterinary Nurse

I have worked with vets4pets for over 10 years and became a registered veterinary nurse in 2012, In my years with vets4pets I have learned a lot and taken up further qualifications in order to help improve my patient care skills.

As well as being a veterinary nurse I am also a pet health care counsellor, a diabetes adviser and clinical coach (practical trainer and assessor of student veterinary nurses).

The aspect of my job I find the most enjoyable are consults, as this allows me to help support and educate owners in preventative health care be it parasite control to behaviour concerns. This job allows me to learn something new and interesting everyday, which I have to admit I love being somewhat of a nerd.

Danielle Welch

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I have recently joined the Kirkby Vets4Pets team in October 2018 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

Previous to starting at Kirkby, I worked at Sutton in Ashfield Vets4Pets where I spent almost 3 years as Head Veterinary Nurse. Alongside my nursing role I am also a clinical coach (this means mentoring the student veterinary nurses throughout their training, which I have been doing for 2 and a half years now) and also Community Nurse where I organised many client educational events and fun days to raise money for local charities.

Amongst my experience I have also worked in a Referral Veterinary Hospital and a 24 hour Veterinary Surgery down in Hertfordshire where I am originally from.

I have a keen interest in Anaesthesia and client education. I also have a soft spot for a spaniel, one of which I have of my own, a working Cocker Spaniel called Hattie- we love going out exploring the peak district!

Amy Bullous

Receptionist

I have joined the team at Kirkby after working for Vets4Pets as a Receptionist since 2013, initially at Mansfield and more recently at Sutton in Ashfield. I spent some time away down south last year but didn't manage to stay away for long and I am really excited to be back. I live with my husband Luke and our little girl. We share our home with Milly the German Shepherd, Larry the Dachshund Cross, Boo the cat and two rabbits who keep us super busy. I am so proud to be part of such a fabulous and dedicated team here at Kirkby and I am really enjoying getting to know all of our new clients and seeing lots of familiar faces!
