Vets4Pets Bedminster

Meet the Bedminster vet team

Gabriel Chida MRCVS, Joint Venture Partner, Veterinary Surgeon, Vets4Pets, Brislington

Gabriel Chida
BVSc, MRCVS, PG Dip Bus Admin, MBA

Owner and Veterinary Surgeon

I have been in practice for over twelve years, eight of which I spent in a seaside town in North Somerset. I am interested in all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery although I have indulged my special interest in orthopaedics.

I have varied experience in general practice work including emergency care. I have accrued bags of knowledge through professional development programmes from reputable institutions such as the North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC), BSAVA and Western Veterinary Conference (WVC). I am an avid reader and such a keen learner. I have recently acquired a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with the Open University (UK).

I like having a laugh as the day progresses. I enjoy travelling and football. At home I am owned by my 'Ginger Tom' and my 'Three Little Angels'. My wish is to ensure the best possible care for your pets and your conscience. I look forward to meeting you, your 'furry' loved ones and to enter into an everlasting relationship doing what we do best.

Paul Guckian

Owner and Veterinary Surgeon

I have been a vet for over 20 years since graduating from The University College, Dublin in 1987. In that time I have worked for small animal and equine practices in the UK. I have also travelled across Australia, which gave me the chance to work with a whole host of 'critters'. I enjoy being a Veterinary Surgeon as every day is different and I feel privileged to look after pets because they are an extremely important and precious part of people’s lives.

Outside of work I enjoy the great outdoors, birdwatching  and walking my dog with my partner and our two children. I also love going to the races and following the Ireland Rugby Union team.

Veterinary Surgeon

Hattie is originally from Yorkshire and studied at the University of Bristol, qualifying with distinction in 2014. After working in a busy semi-rural practice in East Yorkshire for three years she decided to move back to Bristol and excitedly joined the Bedminster team in summer 2017. Hattie has a keen interest in general surgery and enjoys meeting our clients and their lovely pets.

In her spare time she enjoys socialising and exploring the countryside with her Labrador Fred. Fred is also a keen member of the Bedminster team helping with treat tasting and ensuring our bedding is comfy enough.

Rachel V4P Bedminster.jpg

Veterinary Surgeon

Rachel joined the team in July 2016. She qualified in 2006 and worked for a mixed veterinary practice initially, before deciding to devote her time to small animals instead. Rachel enjoys all aspects of veterinary work but has a keen interest in feline and canine medicine. She spends her time outside work riding her beautiful horse Poppy and walking her adorable dog Dibley.

Tania RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Tania has been a Veterinary Nurse for 29 years. She has worked in Bath for the past 16 years but has now found herself back here in Bristol, which is where she has lived all of her life. Tania holds an ISFM certificate in Feline Nursing and a Diploma in Feline Behaviour.

She owns 8 cats and will happily declare herself to be a 'mad cat lady' and believes that every practice should 'own one'.

Veterinary Nurse Assistant

Emily joined the team in October 2016. She has always wanted to work with animals since she was little.

At home, she has a dog called Poppy, who is a slightly crazy, but loveable Jack Russell.

Emily hopes to pursue her dream of becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse in the future, and is currently enjoying every aspect of being a Nursing Assistant and meeting clients with their animals.

Gill - V4P Bedminster.png

Practice Manager

Gill has been a Veterinary receptionist for over 12 years, and couldn't imagine doing a different job. She has been very fortunate to spend time working with the RSPCA and at 2 busy referral practices.

Her spare time is usually taken up with her 2 children and bouncy Staffie - Phoenix.

Mandi - V4P Bedminster.jpg

Mandi has worked with animals for most of her working life. She started off her working career, working as a Veterinary Nurse in a local practice, and moved on to work at a large tourist attraction working with Farm, zoo & exotic animals.

She has kept many pets during her life, including her beloved shire horses and her crazy French Bulldog - Van Damme.

Mandi enjoys meeting our clients and their gorgeous pets.
