Vets4Pets Llanrumney

Meet the Llanrumney vet team

Tom Butler Veterinary Surgeon Llanrumney

Tom Butler - BVetMed CertSAS MRCVS

Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the Royal Vet College, London in 2002.

I have always been surrounded by pets, currently Missy a black lab and Janice the Jack Russell.

I aim to treat all pets as if they were my own. In 2010 I passed the RCVS certificate in small animal surgery (CertSAS) . I am one of few vets in South Wales who hold this qualification and I am able to perform complex surgeries here in Cardiff for my own patients and for pets referred to me from other practices.

I have always been a keen sportsman, in my earlier days I played professional rugby for Leicester Tigers, I currently play league basketball for the Caerphilly Salamanders.

Delyth Butler- BVetMed (Hons) CertSAM MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated at the top of my year from The Royal Veterinary College, London in 2004.

Since graduation I have kept up my studies as I aim to provide the best possible care to the pets that I treat. I have completed both the ESVP Certificate in feline medicine, and the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Medicine; the latter being a qualification very few vets in South Wales have.

I am particularly passionate about helping pets with medical conditions such as bowel disease, kidney failure and heart and lung disease. I previously worked in a large Midlands practice seeing pets with these conditions referred to me from other vets.

Even though many of these conditions cannot be cured, I strongly believe that in the right hands we can provide these patients with the best quality of life for as long as possible. Here at Llanrumney Vets4Pets we like to work with owners as a team, giving you all the options available for you and your beloved pets.

Hazel Barter

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Bristol university in 2014 and have been working in small animal practice since then.

I love all animals and love meeting people’s pets. I am interested in managing chronic pain, and helping pets cope with old age, as well as starting off young animals on the right way with preventative healthcare. I have taken extra training courses in imaging and rabbit anaesthesia, as well as general pain management.

I live with a naughty cat called Meredith who has me very well trained.

I'm very much looking forward to meeting you all and being a part of the local community.

Charlotte Friswell

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I have recently joined Llanrumney Vets4Pets, in June 2015. My main clinical interests lie in pain management, canine and feline behaviour and peri-operative care.

My pets include a stubborn Italian Spinone called Florence & Clawdette the domestic shorthaired cat! Florence has a few ongoing medical complaints which means I really understand how distressing having a poorly pet can be.

My aim is to look after each patient as my own and give them the care I would like my furry babies to receive!

Receptionist

I have lived in Llanrumney all my life and have worked at vets4pets since October 2013.

I enjoy every aspect of my role and I always strive to provide the highest level of friendly and approachable client care, with the view that our clients are just as important to us as their furry babies are.

I understand just how much your pets mean to you as I am mum to Ralph and Ruby. Ralph and Ruby are both springer spaniels. Ralph is almost 4 years old and Ruby is a very new addition to my family and is just over 3 months old. Outside of work these 2 keep me very busy.
