MRI at Vets4Pets Guernsey
MRIs are not widely available in human hospitals – let alone veterinary practices! So we are thrilled to be able to offer this imaging equipment at Vets4Pets Guernsey. We can now choose between a full range of imaging facilities to ensure we get the very best diagnosis, care and treatment for your pet.
The MRI unit is a mobile facility - it will visit us every 12 weeks and will be available for 1 to 2 days each time. If you have any questions or would like to speak to a member of the team in more detail, please call us on 01481 239 101.
How does MRI work?
MRI uses a powerful magnet and radio waves to create detailed, high-resolution cross-section images of bones and soft tissue inside the body. Unlike X-rays and CT scans, MRI does not involve radiation. It is generally used to diagnose bone and joint problems as well as identify any torn ligaments and cartilage or slipped discs. MRI can also be used to highlight problems like brain damage, strokes and brain tumours.
This mobile facility is owned and managed by Burgess Diagnostics. Explore their website for more information about MRI.
