Sarah Thomas MRCVS

Practice Owner and Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as a vet from Nottingham University and, together with Jenny, I am a partner at Rugby Central and Rugby Vets4Pets. I truly enjoy working with our wonderful team and meeting all the lovely pets and the owner’s that trust us to look after them.

My home life very much reflects my work life as I’m known for a being a bit of a soft touch and have acquired many waifs and strays through working as a vet, including Murphy, a Romanian Shepherd and numerous cats and guinea pigs.

Sian Harper MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2011. Since qualifying I have been in both mixed and small animal practice and have even spent some time working in the depths of the Amazon Jungle at a rescue centre for monkeys and other Amazonian species.

I have a keen interest in exotics, especially gecko's - they are just so cute! I would like to work towards a certificate specialising in exotics in the future.

At home I have a menagerie of animals that keep me busy in my spare time, including 3 shelties which you may see running round the practice.

Fiona Grief MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Originally from Somerset, I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2012. After moving to Rugby I worked in large animal practice for 3 years before realising it's much warmer and dryer working with small animals inside!

I have a keen interest in surgery and shall be undertaking a certificate in small animal surgery in the future.

I have a black Labrador called May, who many clients will have met in the practice. Outside of work I regularly travel back to Somerset to visit family and friends, taking part and judging their carnival season.

Veterinary Surgeon

I’ve been a qualified vet for over 18 years now, I’m married with 2 children, a dog and a cat. I’m particularly interested in emergency and critical care and surgery.

I like working at Rugby Central Vets4Pets as I believe the store is a more interesting and less intimidating environment for pets to enter than traditional vet practices.

This job is ensuring pets and clients receive the best possible care and consideration.

What is your favourite animal and why?
My favourite animal has always been the meerkat, from a young age I have been intrigued and inspired by their endless curiosity and boundless energy, and of course I love their cute faces!

What pets do you have and what are their names?
I have one very cheeky chappie, a cat (although he doesn’t think so!) called bob. I rescued him from my last veterinary practice – definitely a perk of the job!

What's the best pet name that you've ever come across?
Peggy the three legged cat – she was a sweetheart

What is your favourite famous animal?
It has to be Tigger from Winnie The Pooh, always there helping out with boundless bouncing!

What's the best aspect of working for Vets4Pets?
I especially enjoy having an experienced and qualified team in which we can learn from each other and share experiences and the odd cream cake! I also love the support you have from the Vets4Pets team especially IT as I’m no computer tech! This allows me to concentrate on the pets in our care.
