Veterinary Nurse

I started working here in August 2016 and was instantly made to feel welcome and part of the team. I'm a recently qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse and achieved this with the help of the very experienced and patient colleagues here.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a bit of a crazy cat lady. I have a rescue cat called Freyja whose favourite past time is eating important documents or laying on top of my book while I was trying to revise. My other love is my Yamaha Fazer 600 motorbike which I take out as often as possible.

Before starting my Veterinary Nurse training I had worked in the equine industry for 15 years. My last horse job was for a charity retraining and re-homing ex-racehorses.

Veterinary Nurse

I have always had an interest in animals from a young age.

After leaving school at 16, I started working in a veterinary practice, qualifying in 1995. Since then I have worked in many types of practices including equine and emergency and critical care. I love all aspects of nursing.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, including my 2 dogs and 1 mad cat.

I look forward to meeting you and your pet soon.

Student Veterinary Nurse

After using Vet4Pets for my own animals, I did a week worth of work experience at the practice and fell in love with the job of a nurse more than I thought I would. I had always wanted to work with animals since I was a toddler.

I have now been at the practice for nearly 6 years and enjoy working in a supportive team and meeting the clients and their pets. I like anything from a quiet day in consults to the fast pace of looking after all the hospitalised patients, helping the animals in any way that I can.

In my spare time I like to exercise, spend time with family and friends and adventure to new places (always finding a 4 legged friend along the way).

I have two naughty tortoiseshell cats of my own to occupy my time at home

Student Veterinary Nurse

I started working here as a work experience placement during my last year at school, following with one year on my veterinary care assistant course (VCA); and have now started my Veterinary Nursing training.

I like working with the nursing team and meeting new clients in my nurse clinics.

I’ve got quite a few pets including 4 Shih Tzu’s; a rescue Budgie; a bearded dragon, rabbits, tortoises and rats.

Kay Iddon

Client Care Advisor

My name is Kay and I have been working as a receptionist here for 8 years. I find my role extremely satisfying and rewarding on a daily basis.

I have a 1 year old GSD at home called Harley who likes to keep me on my toes, but I wouldn't have her any other way!

Karen Edwards

Client Care Advisor

My name is Karen and I work on reception, I have been working with Vets4Pets South Shields for almost 5 years. What I like about working for Vets4Pets is every day is different which makes it exciting, meeting our clients with their pets and the friendly atmosphere within the practice.

I have a 3 year old daughter and 12 year old golden retriever called Buster which we love dearly. When I'm not at work I love spending time with my friends and family.

I have been with South Shields Vets4Pets from the beginning. I enjoy working in such a friendly environment and meeting new clients and their pets each day. Every day is different here which makes it an exciting place to work.

I currently have a hamster called Fudge. He is quite a character and can be a little feisty at times but very lovable.
