Rachel Smith

Practice Partner& Registered Veterinary Nurse

I started as a school leaver helping out in a veterinary practice close to home in Northumberland in 1993. I went on to complete my nursing training and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 1998. 5 years later I joined the Vets4Pets Group becoming the groups first veterinary nurse partner. After almost 15 years as a Practice Partner my role has moved from full time nursing to practice management and administration. My week will be split between Sunderland South Vets4Pets and our sister practice Sunderland Vets4Pets, where I am also the practice partner.

Veterinary Surgeon BVSc MRCVS

I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1999 and have worked in small animal and emergency/critical care practice since graduating. After all this time I still very much love being a vet and I enjoy the challenges that general practice brings both in medicine and surgical cases. Every day is different. The bond between a pet and their owner is something very special and I consider myself privileged to be able to play a part in maintaining that relationship.

Veterinary Surgeon DVM MRCVS

I qualified from the University of Florida in 2010. Soon after graduation I made my way over to the UK with my British husband and our cats in tow! We initially settled in London and I spent the first 2 1/2 years there in general practice. My true passion is everything feline and a feline exclusive job brought me and the rest of the family up to County Durham, where I have been for the last four years. I have recently decided to move back into general practice, but my interest in all things feline (especially feline geriatrics and dentistry) continues on strongly and I am currently study to further my knowledge and qualification in feline medicine. Outside of work I enjoy enriching the lives of my indoors-only cats, travelling, Crossfit and hula-hooping!

Veterinary Surgeon BVM BVS MRCVS

I started my love for animals as a work experience student in Sunderland Vets4Pets while I attended St Anthony’s school. I then went onto Nottingham Veterinary School where I graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon in July 2017. Post graduation I returned home to Sunderland and joined the team at Vets4Pets. I have an interest in diagnostic imaging and plan to develop my knowledge and skills in this field. I enjoy seeing all animals and look forward to working between both the Vets4Pets practices in Sunderland.

Thomas Natsiopoulos

Veterinary Surgeon MRCVS

I started working with the team in Sunderland Vets4Pets in August 2016. This is my first job following my graduation in Greece in November 2014. The reason that i became a vet is to help our small friends and to try to help them to have the best quality of life possible. At home in Greece I have lots of cats that live outdoors and I used to own a dog. In the UK I currently don't have any pets.

I worked for 34 years in customer service within the civil service and decided I needed a change. I joined the team as a receptionist at Sunderland South vets4pets last week and already love it. My love of animals lead to me having two cats so this job is perfect for me. Each day is different and I've instantly been made to feel welcome and a part of the vet family. I am looking forward to learning more in my new role. My hobbies are reading, yoga and walking.
