I qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the Royal Vet College, London in 2002. I have always been surrounded by pets, currently Missy a black lab and Janice the Jack Russell. I aim to treat all pets as if they were my own. in 2001 I passed the RCVS certificate in small animal surgery (CertSAS) . I am one of few vets in South Wales who hold this qualification and I am able to perform complex surgeries here in Cardiff for my own patients and for pets referred to me from other practices. I have always been a keen sportsman, in my earlier days I played professional rugby for Leicester Tigers, I currently play league basketball for the Caerphilly Salamanders.

I graduated at the top of my year from The Royal Veterinary College, London in 2004. Since graduation I have kept up my studies as I aim to provide the best possible care to the pets that I treat. I have completed both the ESVP Certificate in feline medicine, and the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Medicine; the latter being a qualification very few vets in South Wales have. I am particularly passionate about helping pets with medical conditions such as bowel disease, kidney failure and heart and lung disease. I previously worked in a large Midlands practice seeing pets with these conditions referred to me from other vets. Even though many of these conditions cannot be cured, I strongly believe that in the right hands we can provide these patients with the best quality of life for as long as possible. Here at Llanrumney Vets4Pets we like to work with owners as a team, giving you all the options available for you and your beloved pets.

I joined Llanrumney Vets4Pets in September 2017 and instantly felt welcomed by all the members of my team and the owners of our lovely patients. I have been working as a vet in Cardiff and the South Wales area for 10 years now and I have developed a strong link with many patients and their owners, becoming their family vet.

I strive to continue to develop my professional skills and all my knowledge is there to make your precious family members healthy and hence happy. I enjoy imaging and internal medicine cases but most of all I am keen to investigate and follow up any challenging cases that the new day brings me.

I joined Llanrumney Vets4pets initially in 2015 and after a period of working in different small animal practices, came back to Llanrumney in June 2022.
The team has been really welcoming and it feels great to be back!

I enjoy consulting, getting to meet the owners, their pets and to be part of their health journey from puppies to seniors.

When away from work, I spend time with my family and friends, travelling and cuddling my cat Mavis!

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2010, and have been part of the team at Llanrumney Vets4Pets since Summer 2015.

I recently completed the ESVPS Improve qualification in Veterinary Nursing Anaesthesia and Analgesia which allows me to deliver an even higher standard of care to our patients. I also enjoy all other areas of nursing, especially surgical nursing and radiography.

Outside of work I play American football and like to spend time with my own cats Pinky, Perky and Smudge.

I joined the Llanrumney Vets4Pets team in November 2019 as a second year student nurse. I continued my studies throughout the pandemic and qualified as an RVN in 2022.

My favourite parts of the job are inpatient care and nurse clinics. I particularly enjoy working with owners whose pets have been advised to lose weight, and seeing the results we can achieve when we work together.

Outside of work I enjoy being outside, walking with my Jack Russell, Louie.

I joined Llanrumney Vets4Pets in April 2021 as a Veterinary Care Assistant. To work with animals is like a dream come true for me. I feel that my passion for animals allows me to give the best possible care for all our patients.

I understand it may be quite daunting to leaving your pets while they’re unwell, so I make sure while they’re with us they receive lots of extra cuddles to make them feel safe and at ease.

A year on, I am now starting college to study Veterinary Nursing with the help and support of this practice.

The last year has given me a real insight and hands-on experience to what being a veterinary nurse entails. I have found this very useful as I have a better understanding of the type of career I am choosing. I have absolutely loved getting to know our patients and their owners this past year; I can happily say I am very excited for the next 2 years of studying!

In my spare time I love to read, socialise and go on long walks with my Husky X Malamute, Nanook. We mostly love the beach, so you’ll find us there rain or shine.

I have lived in Llanrumney all my life and have worked at Llanrumney Vets4pets since October 2013. I enjoy every aspect of my role and I always strive to provide the highest level of friendly and approachable client care, with the view that our clients are just as important to us as their furry babies are.

I understand just how much your pets mean to you as I am mum to Ralph and Ruby. Ralph and Ruby are both Springer Spaniels - and outside of work these 2 keep me very busy!

I started working for Llanrumney Vets4Pets in August 2021.

I have worked and studied in the animal care sector for over 4 years and in that time I have gained a lot of knowledge.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time outdoors with my two dachshunds Frank and George.

We opened our veterinary surgery on Monday 29th April 2013.

We came to Cardiff to offer the best preventative healthcare we could to keep the pets of our local area healthy and happy and to live longer, more fulfilling lives. After eleven here, we like to think that we have gone a long way to achieving that goal. We strive to give all of our clients and their pets a friendly welcome and to make you feel valued by our team. We strive to deliver excellent customer service and we pride ourselves on being able to achieve the best outcomes for your cherished pets, because we treat them like they are our own.

We have recently been awarded the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme Award (for a third time); this is a major achievement and means that our veterinary surgery abides by strict codes of conduct applicable to patient and client care. We have been nominated every year for the PetPlan Practice of the Year award, and have been chosen as one of the “Three Best Rated” vets in Cardiff for six years running - 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023! These awards are all due to the hard work and dedication of our team and our loyal clients who are happy to recommend us to their friends and colleagues. Thank you all!

Our team of 4 vets, 3 nurses, 1 student nurse and 3 receptionists are all here to provide you and your pet with the best care we can. We are constantly improving our skills and investing in new equipment to be able to offer more treatment possibilities. Most recently we purchased video endoscopy equipment to be able to perform minimally invasive procedures and avoid surgery in many cases. We have also upgraded our blood analysers and purchased new endoscopy, ECG, blood pressure monitoring and ocular pressure measuring devices. This is all cutting edge equipment to make sure your pet gets the best in diagnostics and care, right here in Cardiff.

Tom, the partner here at Llanrumney holds the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Small Animal Surgery Certificate and performs referral level orthopaedic surgery every week. In particular he enjoys dealing with canine cruciate (knee) cases, patellar (kneecap) luxations and fractured bones. Another of our vets Julija holds the ESVPS Certificate in Feline Practice and our nurse Rob has passed the ESVPS Nurse Certificate in Anaesthesia. Our vets, alongside the usual medical cases, have special interests in skin and ear disease, heart disease, lameness and joint problems, old age issues and dental disease. We invest heavily in our team’s clinical development so that our team keeps up to date with all the latest developments to make sure your pet gets the very best care.

Our nursing team is very happy to see your pets for dental and weight watchers clinics, puppy socialisation visits, general diet advice and flea and worming treatments. And not forgetting our reception team who are always there to give your pet some fuss when you come to visit us. This team is the backbone of our clinic – they know every pet by name and ensure that you receive all the support you need.

We’re proud of our clinic and we hope you will be proud to recommend us too.
