Vets4Pets Altrincham

Meet the Altrincham Vet team

Nathan Fordham

Nathan Fordham

Veterinary Surgeon & Owner

I graduated from Liverpool University in 2005 and then spent a year in a mixed practice in Dolgellau, North Wales before heading south to Cardiff to work for the UK's biggest animals' charity, the PDSA. While there, as I am particularly interested in orthopaedics surgery, I further studied to get a general practitioner's certificate in surgery.

After meeting my wife, I moved up to Manchester and since then have worked in a number of practices around the North West.  I wanted a new challenge and now this is the opportunity for me to open my own practice at Vets4Pets Altrincham.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling, as well as snowboarding and kitesurfing: my favourite spot is Tarifa, in the South of Spain. We don't have pets at the moment but, having just bought a house, it's just a question of time.

I graduated from Liverpool University having undertaken an elective period in veterinary anaesthesia. I have a keen interest in preventative health care and rabbit medicine.

In my spare time I enjoy playing with my cat, Bean and fell-walking in the Lake District.

Joanna Heywood

Head Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2013 after 6 years training in referral practice. I joined Vets4Pets in 2014 and I enjoy the surgical and consulting aspects of nursing. I have a crossbreed dog called Jack who gives us a run for our money.

Leanne Flavell

Student Veterinary Nurse

I am a student veterinary nurse who began studying in 2015 after carrying out work experience at my local vets and realising it was the career I wanted to persue. I completed my two year course in animal management in 2015 and have always loved caring for animals.

In my spare time I enjoy visiting new places with my dogs and spending time with friends.

Ashlee Cook

Student Veterinary Nurse

Hi my name is Ashlee and I have been working at Altrincham since we first opened in 2014. I am currently in my final year before qualifying to be a registered veterinary nurse.

I was raised on a farm breeding Rouge de L'Ouest sheep so have been surrounded by animals my whole life.

I currently have a French bulldog called Byron and three horses; a Shire horse called Billie, a Thoroughbred x called Diego and a little Welsh pony called Tarrangon.

Charlotte Lamb

Veterinary Care Assistant

I worked within the RSPCA for 3 years where I was a small furry fosterer and rabbit bonder. The largest number of foster pets I had at one time was 365 which included 2 chinchillas and 363 Giant African Land Snails.

Megan Clarke

Receptionist

After studying Animal Behaviour at University and volunteering at the Cats Protection League, I wanted to continue working in an animal environment.

I enjoy working at Vets4Pets and two days are never the same! In my spare time, I enjoy travelling to different places and looking after my grumpy 17 year old cat called Billy.
