Richard Knight Banbury.jpg

Richard Knight MRVCS

Senior Veterinary Surgeon and Practice Partner

Hi I’m Richard, the senior veterinary surgeon and partner here at Banbury. Since opening the surgery in November 2013, I have had the privilege of working alongside a great team of colleagues, at the surgery, in the Pets at Home store and with my support office colleagues in Swindon.

I qualified from Bristol University in 1995 and have gained a vast experience with all species of animals from farm and equine to wildlife and zoo animals. In the last 10 years I have concentrated on small animals, domestic and exotic, with an emphasis on preventative healthcare and medical management of conditions. I’m currently (2018) enrolled in training for veterinary acupuncture, a proven method in the relief of chronic pain in animals.

Outside of work I’m an active member of a local community choir and enjoy relaxing at home with my 2 rescue cats Earl and Gabmellon.

Banbury Vets4Pets is a nursing training practice. This means that we adhere to strict regulations put upon us by local colleges and universities to enable our experienced staff to train the next generation of veterinary nurses. We currently have 3 student nurses that work alongside our experienced team. These nurses are Marriam, Charlotte and Bradley. All of the student nurses are at varied stages of their training, which enables the Banbury team to ensure that the time that they spend with us can be the most beneficial, we are able to concentrate their training to the areas that is most suited for their level of experience without them scuffling for the same clinical cases.
