Vets4Pets Barnstaple

Meet the team

Aimi Glover BVSc(hons) GPCert(SAS) CertAVP MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified in Veterinary Medicine in 2004 from the University of Bristol. After a year in mixed practice I moved into solely small animal work including an internship at the University of Liverpool in 2010 and opened Vets4Pets Barnstaple in November 2018.

I love all aspects of my job but have a particular interest and specialisation in soft tissue surgery having gained both a General practitioners certificate (GPCert(SAS)) in 2009 and an RCVS certificate (CertAVP) in 2015. Despite these post-graduate qualifications I still have a strong interest in medicine and love the variety of clinical cases and animals that we see.

My favourite part of our job is getting to meet clients and their pets and form an ongoing relationship with them over time seeing their pets grow and helping to keep them well.

I am married to my husband Ian who is also a vet and we have a 4 year old son Oscar and 1 year old baby girl Beatrice. We share our home with our three dogs, three chickens, two guinea pigs and a horse so life is busy!

Chloe Hankinson BVSc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from University of Bristol in 2017 and after 9 months as a farm vet moved down to Devon for a change into small veterinary work. I joined Vets4Pets Barnstaple in January, 2019.

I enjoy the varied aspects that this role offers and have a particular interest in neurology. Having completed an externship at Dallas Zoo, I am also very interested in exotic patients and look forward to welcoming our slightly more unusual animals to the practice.

I like to stay active and when not caring for pets I can be found doing martial arts, rowing, weightlifting or hiking up mountains. I also have a 15 month old border collie to keep me busy and two retired police dogs at my parents home in the Midlands.

Alice Tanton RVN

Veterinary Nurse

I qualified in 2014 from the Royal Veterinary College with a Foundation degree in Veterinary Nursing. I was born and raised in Barnstaple so I knew I would always be working locally – who could leave the area?!

Previously I have worked in a Small animal Veterinary Hospital so I have experience in all aspects of fist opinion nursing, including night shifts and emergency cover. My interests include Wound management and Pharmacology – if I’m not bandaging something I will be in the Pharmacy! Outside of work I will nearly always be with my friends and family, walking my dog or chilling out at home.

Tash Gibson RVN

Veterinary Nurse

I began my Veterinary Nurse training in 2012 at a practice in Mid Devon and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2015. Since then I have been working as a locum RVN across South West England and spent a few months travelling and locuming in New Zealand. Earlier this year I began studying for a Diploma in Animal Physiotherapy alongside my nursing work. I look forward to qualifying and incorporating all I learn from this with my knowledge and experience in nursing.

I am passionate about all aspects of nursing but my particular interests are consulting, caring for inpatients and meeting all the characters that come through the door, both fluffy and otherwise!

Outside of work I love to ride, surf, walk and travel. I grew up on a small holding so I have had lots of animals over the years, but currently I have an Exmoor pony and a Springer Spaniel, as well as a very old and very bossy cat!

Judit Walker

Client Care Co-ordinator

My name is Judit and I am our Client Care Coordinator. I am from Hungary but I met my Devonian husband when we were both living in London, and this is one of the reasons I came to North Devon. I have a great passion for animals and it has always been a dream of mine to work in animal care.

My own fluffy squad includes 2 cats and 2 dogs at the moment but I am sure this number will soon grow. Coming from a HR background I am not just a help for my team in the admin procedures but I make a perfect pet cuddler as well for inpatients.

Jayne Buchan

Client Care Advisor

Hi I'm Jayne our Client Care advisor. I'm a huge animal lover and have worked in animal care for a long time. I am very passionate about animal welfare.

When I am not working I enjoy walking my own dogs a Rottweiler and Dalmatian over the sandy burrows.

Elaine Locke

Client Care Advisor

My name is Elaine, I started working for Vets4Pets just over two years ago after leaving an administrative position. I love the variety of the veterinary world, sometimes you are seeing cats or dogs and the next minute it could be a more exotic animal. Every day is different and I enjoy that challenge.

I have three dogs. Two 11 year old Staffie crosses and a 6 year old Lurcher cross. I was once told as Staffies get older they calm down, I can confirm this is untrue in my case! Mine still act like they are 6 months old and are completely crazy but I love them regardless. I am looking forward to starting my job at the new Vets4Pets Barnstaple. I’m excited to meet all our lovely customers and their pets.
