Veterinary Surgeon

Before going to vet school I completed a Degree in Bio veterinary sciences then went on to fulfil my life-long dream and graduated as a vet in 2014 from Liverpool University.

I am originally from the North East and couldn't think of a more perfect place to live.

I have spent my first 3 years in mixed practice but decided to concentrate solely on small animal practice. I have a keen interest in anaesthetic and pain management.

I have recently tied the knot with my partner 'Chris' of 12 years. We are kept busy with our super excitable cocker spaniel 'Mylo' and love to travel and enjoy an occasional game of golf and pub quizzes.

Veterinary Surgeon

My name is Lisa and I am one of the vets. I qualified in 2010 from Royal Dick Veterinary School in Edinburgh. After graduation, I moved back home to Durham to begin my career in mixed practice. I have worked in several small animal and equine practices in the area and also spent a year working in Australia.

My grandfather was a vet so have grown up with a love of animals. I loved looking after animals riding horses growing up. At home I am Mum to Harry and my fur baby George the Labrador.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

My name is Megan and I am one of the veterinary nurses her at Bishop Auckland. I qualified as a registered veterinary nurse (RVN) in 2014 and after having worked in small animal veterinary practice for a number of years I decided to top up my qualification and study to also become a qualified equine RVN. I worked in equine veterinary practice up until January 2018 when I decided to settle here at Bishop Vets4Pets.

I work at Vets4 Pets part time as I have a second job at Askham Bryan College where I teach veterinary nursing diploma level 3 to first and second year students.

I am kept busy outside of work with my three horses (Billy, Perry and Echo) who I enjoy competing and my maine coon cat Pascal. I also enjoy spending time with the family dogs, two Labradors Gunner and Red.

Student Veterinary Nurse

Hello! My name is Sarah. I'm a student veterinary nurse at Bishop Auckland Vets4pets. I'm in my first year of my Diploma course with Askham Bryan College in Newcastle. I have a Bichon Frise called Rupert so I'm a little Bichon mad.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling and recording music. I have always had a passion for working with animals and a change of career has allowed me to do this.

Client Care Assistant

I have worked at Bishop Auckland Vets4pets since it opened in March 2016.

I have always had an interest in animals since being young and my house was never free from strays that I enjoyed taking care of. (Dogs, cats, rabbits, pigeons, hedgehogs are only a few!!).

I really enjoy meeting our clients and their pets particularly when they just pop in while passing, for a cuddle & a few treats.

I have 2 dogs, 'Maisie' 8 year old patterdale terrier and 'Ben' 5 year old Jack Russell.

Client Care Assistant

My name is Debra Astbury and I joined Vets4Pets in September 2016. I have worked on reception in vet practices since April 2001. I enjoy working with pets and people and love hearing stories about how you got your pet, what your pets favourite toys/food/games are, what problems you have had with your pet, how those problems were solved. I am fascinated by how animals socialise with each other and socialise with us. I am fairly good at remembering faces but hopeless at remembering names, although I often remember the pets' name. I live in a village and know many of the dogs' names but cannot remember many of the owners' names!

I have a cat called Trio, 1 boxer dog called Stanley, and a husband too and I love them all very much.

I could tell you so many stories about the cats we have had and Stan but will look forward to chatting to you in person and hearing your stories and funny moments. Hope to see you soon.
