Borehamwood Vets4Pets JVP

Amir Mohseni

MRCVS

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I was born in London but grew up in Iran. After qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in 1998, I moved Back to the UK and I have since been working in small animal surgeries all over the country. I've done an MSc in Controlling Animal Disease at the London Royal College in 2004 and passed my membership exam in 2008.

I enjoy all aspects of my veterinary work but my main interest is small animal surgery and also feline medicine. For this reason I am currently studying towards a certificate in small animal surgery and also a certificate in feline practice.

I am personally a cat person and have two lovely Maine Coons called Aslan and Bungle, both rescued. I enjoy working with any breed of dogs but I love Labradors.

I am so excited to be part of a great company like Vets4Pets and I am so grateful for being a vet.

MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2016 from the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno, Czech Republic and registered in the UK in November 2017. During my childhood years, my first love was animals.

My primary hobby and passion was keeping and learning about animals, from cats and dogs through to exotics such as snakes, crocodiles and parrots. I have experience in caring for and handling animals in a safe, effective and humane manner, especially animals that need special care and/or those that are untrained.

I have a keen interest in furthering my knowledge and experience to better understand the physiology and natural habits of animals. I am knowledgeable in the characteristics and requirements of exotic animals as well as a familiarity with symptoms of disease that they are prone to. I'm also extremely interested in birds, exotic mammals and cats and dogs.

I have been working with animals since 2014 but I started to work in veterinary during 2016 since then I have worked as both a veterinary care assistant and as a client care assistant.

I enjoy working with the animals and seeing their progress as they get better. My aim is to train to be a veterinary nurse in the near future.

I currently have a little rescue cat called Jess who was left at a previous vets I worked at, when she was just 3 months old.

I have always had a love for animals and growing up I have always wanted  to work with animals. I have kept many pets over the years all of which have been strays and rescues. Currently I have a rescue cat and chinchilla.

I attended Oakland’s college where I studied a few animal care and animal management courses. I have worked as an animal nursing assistant in a couple of veterinary practices since and joined the brand new Vets4Pets practice in Borehamwood as a Veterinary Care Assistant.

I am hoping to go on and train as a Veterinary Nurse soon. I would also like to explore the subject of animal physiotherapy and hydrotherapy in the future.

Veterinary Care Assistant

Since I was a little girl I have always known I would choose a career caring for animals. In 2008 I got my Batchelor's Degree in biological sciences and in 2013 I got my Masters of science degree in wild animal biology.

After a few years working as an animal keeper in aquariums and zoos and working closely to the veterinary team, I decided to be a veterinary nurse. Caring for the animals and learning from the vets was what brought most joy to my daily work routine.

Now as a veterinary care assistant I am fulfilling part of my dream and hopefully I will soon achieve my goal of becoming a qualified veterinary nurse and continue to provide the professional care and love our patients deserve.

When I was a little girl, I wanted to grow up with the intention of studying the ocean and possibly working with dolphins. I have always had a keen interest in animals and have an extreme passion for dogs!

I have grown up with always having a dog present in our home and I currently have the pleasure of owning a beautiful working type lemon roan cocker spaniel called Marley, I have had him from 9wks of age and he is now 3yrs 5 months and he is just a delight to be with.

I am currently seeking to rehome a rescue dog. Growing up we had a family dog called Giz, he was a Yorkshire terrier and lived a healthy life up to 18yrs old. Sadly he passed a few years back but brought much joy to our family. We also have a 9 month old bearded dragon called Spike, he belongs to my son but we share the joy and responsibility of looking after him. Over the years I have had a rabbit,5 guinea pigs,1 hamster and 2 budgies After 14 years in healthcare I was made redundant which led me to question my career path so I decided to spend some time studying a number of courses where I gained 6 CPD awards all in animal care and felt this was my time to fulfil my dream at long last and start a new career with animals.

I absolutely love working with the animals and our clients and I feel very proud to be part of the team here at Vets4Pets Borehamwood.

I have always had a passion for animals and animal welfare. Although I do not have any pets now i did have 2 guinea pigs growing up called Toffee and Ruby and a Syrian hamster called Harvey.

My love for animals grew when I volunteered at a childrens farm looking after rabbits, guinea pigs, ponies and other farm animals. I have always wanted a career working with animals and this opportunity allows me to do just that.

The team at Vets4Pets Borehamwood are friendly and helpful and I feel like part of the team already. I have thoroughly enjoyed working here and can see myself staying with the company for years to come.
