Meet the Brislington Vet Team

Gabriel Chida MRCVS, Joint Venture Partner, Veterinary Surgeon, Vets4Pets, Brislington

Gabriel Chida

BVSc, MRCVS, PG Dip Bus Admin, MBA

Joint Venture Partner & Veterinary Surgeon

I  have been in practice for over twelve years, eight of which I spent in a seaside town in North Somerset. I am interested in all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery although I have indulged my special interest in orthopaedics.

I have varied experience in general practice work including emergency care. I have accrued bags of knowledge through professional development programmes from reputable institutions such as the North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC), BSAVA and Western Veterinary Conference (WVC). I am an avid reader and such a keen learner. I have recently acquired a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with the Open University (UK).

I like having a laugh as the day progresses. I enjoy travelling and football. At home I am owned by my 'Ginger Tom' and my 'Three Little Angels'. My wish is to ensure the best possible care for your pets and your conscience. I look forward to meeting you, your 'furry' loved ones and to enter into an everlasting relationship doing what we do best.

Joint Venture Partner & Veterinary Surgeon

I have been a vet for over 20 years since graduating from The University College, Dublin in 1987. In that time I have worked for small animal and equine practices in the UK. I have also travelled across Australia, which gave me the chance to work with a whole host of 'critters'. In 2008 I opened Companion Care Bristol Filton in July. I'm a keen bird watcher and live near Bristol with my partner and our two children.

Veterinary Surgeon

I have been a vet for over 25 years and have worked in all sorts of veterinary practice, including private practice and the charity organisations RSPCA and PDSA. I also practised for a brief spell in The United Arab Emirates. I have treated horses, farm animals and pets, but have concentrated on working with pets for the past 20 years.

I am also a practising artist, regularly showing my work in galleries around Bristol and Bath, and have a keen interest in the visual arts. I live in Bristol with my wife, two dogs and a cat.

Veterinary Surgeon

I have been a vet for 6 years after graduating from Cambridge University.

I worked in several different places around Britain before recently settling in Bristol, which is the best city in England! I especially love dogs but instead own a black cat 'Cissy' who is crazy.

I wanted to be a vet since the age of 8 after reading the Doctor Dolittle books, and regret not being able to talk to the animals as it would make life much easier.

In my spare time I grow vegetables and like to practice my drawing.

Rachel Andrews RVN

Head Veterinary Nurse

I have been working in Veterinary Practice since 2003 and gained my Veterinary Nursing Qualification in 2007.

I have always been a massive animal lover and being able to provide TLC  when your pets need it most gives me a sense of enormous fulfilment. Seeing the bond between pet owners and their pets and being able to help ensure that bond lasts for as long as possible, is what makes me do what I do.

I see every pet and owner as a member of my extended family.

I got married in 2012 and have a cheeky moggy at home! Minx is a tabby and white short haired cat who loves catnip and bringing back ‘presents’ and leaving them on the doorstep(!). She loves cuddles and will do anything for Dreamies Treats!

In my spare time I enjoy watching wildlife, photography, baking and watching British Comedy.

Student Veterinary Nurse

I have been working within Vets4Pets Brislington since it opened in 2012, starting out as a care assistant and now currently finishing my nurse training, hoping to qualify as an RVN in the near future!

I have always enjoyed working alongside animals and find working as a nurse very rewarding!

I have two cats myself (Mark and Debbie) and enjoy knitting and drawing in my spare time.

Veterinary Care Assistant

I have been working within the practice for around 5 years, starting as work experience to gain some insight in to the veterinary industry. I am now working as a nurse assistant for Vets4Pets and really enjoy meeting all of our lovely patients each day. I am planning in the near future to start training to become a qualified veterinary nurse, and would like to gain more experience working within theatre.

In my spare time I care for my trio of dogs and enjoy riding my horses, often competing locally.

Veterinary care assistant

Starting in the practice in February 2017 as a care assistant, my role here in Vets4Pets Brislington perfectly concatenates all my experience, passions, and life skills.

Personally, having worked in a zoological environment in my past; I have interests in all myriad of creatures in the animal kingdom, At home I currently have three rats and high hopes of convincing my partner to adopt a rescue dog soon!

I hope to progress up through this role and eventually obtain my RVN qualification, before specialising in a subset of veterinary nursing.

Practice Manager

I joined the practice in March 2016 as a receptionist and have progressed to acting practice manager and feel very privileged to work with such a friendly and caring team.

I lived in the Philippines for 8 years and whilst there I cared for and rescued a multitude of animals. My menagerie consisted of 5 dogs (4 from the streets of Manila), an iguana, green crested lizard, a little Scops owl, lovebirds, finches, a rooster, three ducks, some fish, a bat and even an eagle for a few days.

Since moving back to the UK my house is a little tamer. In my spare time I enjoy taking my two Philippine street dogs for long walks and caring for my handful of Danios. I guess it was only natural for me to end up working at a vet with my love for animals.

Head Receptionist

Having wanted to pursue a career in the veterinary industry for a long time, I was very happy when I was offered the job to become a Receptionist at Vets4Pets! I feel very lucky to work with such a fantastic, funny and caring team. I really enjoy meeting our clients and their gorgeous pets daily - as I am constantly learning new things.

I have two dogs myself; Buzz the Yorkshire Terrier and Marley a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who I enjoy walking in my spare time, alongside keeping fit and catching up with my friends.

Receptionist

I started working for Vets4pets in August 2016. Before that I worked at Pets at Home for 7 years where I gained a lot of knowledge about animals. Through working there I trained in a lot of areas including nutrition, dental, microchipping, reptiles, fish and small animals.

I have a budgie named Dave who is very talkative. He enjoys whistling the ‘Great Escape’, the ‘Addams Family’ & ‘Laurel & Hardy’ but, gets them muddled together so we call it the ‘Dave rap’.

In my spare time I enjoy looking after my grandchildren.
