Meet the Bromsgrove Vet Team

Bromsgrove Vets4Pets Lois Wakelin

Lois Wakelin

Joint Venture Partner & Veterinary Surgeon

I studied for and completed my Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at Liverpool University, graduating with distinction in 2012. For the past three years I have worked in a mixed practice in rural Worcestershire, seeing all creatures great and small. 2015 saw me move to Bromsgrove to become a Joint Venture Partner with Vets4Pets and focus purely on small animals.

At home I have three rescue cats, a French Bulldog called Beau and two tortoises.

I graduated from Edinburgh University in 2012. Having previously worked in Worcestershire, I have been based in the Cotswolds at a small animal practice for the last three and a half years.

I recently decided to move back home to Worcestershire and I am very much looking forward to adopting some rescue cats as soon as possible!

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I started as a kennel assistant in 2009 at my previous practice, starting my Student Nurse training the following year. I completed my training and qualified as an RVN at the beginning of 2014.

I love working with animals of all shapes and sizes.

I have a golden Labrador called Evie and a Thoroughbred called Maxi, therefore I spend most of my spare time at the yard riding and doing horsey chores.

My previous job was a kennels and cattery working with boarding pets and rescue dogs and cats, which I did for two years.

I have a National Diploma in Animal Management and I am aiming to become a qualified vet nurse in the future.

Currently at home I have a rescue crossbreed dog called Connie.

From leaving school I worked as a hand crafted Gold Leaf cutter for 18 years, supplying 24carat gold to various places, including Prince Charles and Lady Diana's wedding carriage and Buckingham Palace gates.

A complete change after marriage and children found me working in a farm shop for 12 years, allowing me to work with the public which I very much enjoyed.

Working for Vets4Pets gives me the opportunity to welcome clients and their pets. Previously only having two guinea-pigs of my own, I am thoroughly enjoying meeting all the wonderful pets that we welcome.
