Vets4Pets Caerphilly

Meet the Caerphilly Vet Team

Caerphilly Vets4Pets Maciej Juszczyk

Dr. Maciej Juszczyk MRCVS

Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

Hello and welcome to, Caerphilly Vets4Pets! I am pleased to introduce myself as the Vet and Partner in Caerphilly. I am proud to be joining the community in this beautiful part of the country. Both my wife and I, along with our 2 young daughters, are very excited about this opportunity.

Our aim is to treat your pets and ensure we make a difference in their lives. Our surgery has all the latest technology, such as an Ultrasound scanner with Colour Doppler, a digital X-Ray unit and separate spacious dog and cat wards.

With 15 years of experience in veterinary medicine, I completed a Certificate of Specialization in Small Animal Veterinary Medicine and a Certificate in Veterinary Surgery in Wroclaw, Poland. From the beginning of my career I was involved in research at the University of Wroclaw in Poland, at the Faculty Veterinary Medicine where I completed my Doctoral Dissertation in Veterinary Anatomy.

Through my research and daily practice I noticed a strong need for a more complementary approach toward our patients, which naturally led me to develop an interest in holistic and regenerative medicine as well as stem cell therapy combined with orthopaedic procedures.

Outside of work I enjoy reading, sport and music as well as spending quality time with my family. Please join our friendly practice and great team. I look forward to meeting you and your pet very soon.

Dr Kamila Obacz MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I'm Kamila, I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2010 in Poland, where I worked as a vet up until early 2017 when I moved to Caerphilly to experience another culture here in the UK.

In 2016, I completed a certificate of specialisation in small animal veterinary medicine and am now enjoying the new challenge of working and living in Wales. My main interests within veterinary medicine  are dermatology, cytology, microscopic examinations and diabetes within small animals and love keeping up to date with the latest developments in medicine within the veterinary industry.

I have three dogs called Mila, Kaja, and Babel and a cat called Kropka who live at home with my mum in Poland, although I get to visit quite often!

In my spare time, I really enjoy painting and reading, especially crime and fantasy novels. I also enjoy walking, horse riding and volleyball!

Sara Davies RVN

Head Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1996, at Fields Veterinary Clinic in Newport South Wales. I've always liked animals, and the opportunity to work with them and study was a great career choice. I've been at a number of clinics, the most recent being the RSPCA clinic in Merthyr Tydfil, where I gained valuable experience helping abandoned cats and dogs, and getting them ready for their new homes.

My role as head nurse involves surgical and clinical nursing along with stock management, junior nurse training and general organisation of my team. I'm particularly interested in emergency medicine ,and am planning to complete a certificate in this area next year.

I have a 9 year old Doberman Tara who has been a good companion over the years.

My interests outside of work include long distance running, gardening and reading.

Student Veterinary Nurse

I'm Niamh, the trainee veterinary nurse here at Vets4Pets Caerphilly. I love my job and hope to be fully qualified by 2019.

I am definitely a bit of a crazy cat lady and currently live with six beautiful cats (three of them being my own; Bruno, Eiko & Sugar, who are also rescues).

I have a particular interest in laboratory and microscope work, although I do have a huge soft spot for looking after all of our inpatients in our kennels and cattery.

Outside of work, I play the saxophone and perform with a band. I also love to draw and paint and have a degree I ceramics so really enjoy being creative. I have a variety of different roles here in the surgery and I absolutely love learning new things everyday.

Laura Courtney

Head Receptionist

Hello I'm Laura and I am head receptionist here at Vets4pets Caerphilly.  I have been working at the practice since early 2016 and really enjoy the administrative side of my job which suits my organised nature.  My role here involves running training sessions for administrative tasks, processing insurance claims, ensuring the vets diary run smoothly and welcoming all of our lovely clients and look forward to seeing you all soon.

At home I have a King Charles spaniel called Sadie who loves the attention from everyone at the practice, four cats called Oscar, Simba, Millie and Misty and about forty fish.

Alison Bullock

Receptionist

Hello I'm Alison and I work as a receptionist, I joined Caerphilly Vets4Pets in February 2017.  I have always wanted to work in a veterinary surgery from a little girl as I love animals.  I work front of house and interact with the clients and patients,  I am a people person so the job suits my personality, I really love my position as we help all the fur babies and also get to see lots of unusual creatures too.

My Jack Russel girl Fi Fi is thirteen years young, she is my baby, I love taking her out on long walks, she is amazing for her age - although she can be a cheeky naughty girl.  I love travelling, reading anything and everything and at my happiest when I am on top of a mountain.

Toby Bowen

Receptionist

I only joined the team in Caerphilly in 2017 but I have always liked animals and I have wanted to work closely with them for a long time. Previously I have worked with animals in the charity sector, which helped to develop my interest in the veterinary world.

I have had animals my whole life and currently I have an ex-racing greyhound called Mickey, who was adopted at three years old from Greyhound Rescue Wales in Carmarthenshire. He is a wonderful dog and with a bit of TLC he has come on really well in the last few years.

My role includes being front-of-house and dealing with patients, their owners and generally keeping everyone happy during their time with us.

As a receptionist my favourite part of my role is the opportunity to interact with people and their animals. It is also very rewarding to watch our happy patients leave following successfully procedures.

Outside of work, I enjoy a range of sport including squash, tennis and swimming. I also enjoy travel and have been lucky enough to see a lot of the world.
