Meet the Carlisle Vet Team

Lisa Kerr Carlisle JVP

Lisa Kerr
MRCVS

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

My name is Lisa and I am the owner and Veterinary surgeon at Vets4Pets in Carlisle. I have wanted to be a vet as long as I can remember. It has been a lifelong dream of mine, nothing else was ever considered. I qualified as a vet from the Edinburgh Vet School in 2006 and I worked in mixed practice initially before moving on to work in an extremely busy small animal charity hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne for over 3 years. I wanted to open my practice in Carlisle as I love living in the area and we strive to offer a friendly, professional service with exceptional standards of care, to treat every pet as if it were our own. I love my job, it is my hobby not just my work and it always has and always will be an important part of my life.

Outside of work socialising with friends and family is always high on the agenda, walking with my husband and dogs, keeping fit, playing and watching rugby and being at home with all my animals.

My name is Catherine I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse at Carlisle Vets4 Pets. I have been a nurse since 2006 after completing my BSc Honours degree in Veterinary Nursing at Myerscough College. Since qualifying I have worked in both mixed and referral veterinary practices. I have also worked for Askham Bryan College at Newton Rigg College teaching Veterinary Nursing. In January 2016 I started working full time at Carlisle Vets4Pets and I have enjoyed getting to know the team. My days involve conducting nurse clinics, caring for our patients in the hospital, monitoring anaesthetics and being clinical coach for our student nurse Lottie. I also run the puppy parties, complete all the insurance forms and manage all the stock levels in the hospital. Outside of work I enjoy exploring new places in our campervan and walking our three dogs in the Lake District.

I graduated with a degree in Zoology from the University of Liverpool in 2015 and have been pursuing a career in animal care ever since.
