Meet the team

Emma Hall

Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Liverpool Vet School in 2005 and since then I have worked solely in small animal practice in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and North Wales. When the opportunity came up to run my own practice in my own neighbourhood of Chester I jumped at the chance.

I love being a small animal vet and I am particularly passionate about surgery. I gained my RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (General Small Animal Surgery) in December 2012. I am also an RCVS listed Advanced Practitioner.

Outside of work I enjoy walking Timo (my border collie), doing DIY with my husband and going on holidays abroad, especially to wine-producing areas.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I studied at Harper Adams University where I graduated with an honours degree in Veterinary Nursing and practice management in 2014.

I grew up in Crewe but have since moved to Ellesmere Port where I live with my boyfriend and hamster, Pepper Potts. I also have a Westie called Murray who lives with my parents.

I enjoy cooking, going out for walks and collecting all things Harry Potter and Marvel related.

Client Services Coordinator

I am the newest member of the reception team, having joined in March 2018, and I am a self-confessed “crazy cat lady”.

I have previously studied Animal Management at college and gained a degree in Animal Behaviour at Liverpool John Moores University. As well as working at Vets4Pets, I also work at a charity cat adoption centre.

At home I live with my partner, my cat Binx, two dogs Honey and Luna, 8 chickens, oh and we also have 30 sheep to keep me busy in my spare time. I really enjoy meeting all of our clients and their adorable pets!

Jay Weston

Veterinary Care Assistant

I have moved from Pets At Home Chester Caldy where I have worked for the past 12 years to Vets4Pets Chester Caldy as a Veterinary Care Assistant. (So if my face looks familiar - that's probably why!)

I’ve always wanted to work with animals. I have a National Certificate in Animal Management and a Foundation Degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare. I currently own two lovely cats Lexie and Maisie, and two very cute guinea pigs Simba and Fudge.

When I am not working I am busy with my two little boys. In the future I hope to further my career by training to become a Veterinary Nurse here at Vets4Pets.

Client Services Coordinator

I have recently joined Chester Caldy Vets4Pets as a Client Service Coordinator and am really enjoying working with such a friendly team.

It’s an interesting place to work, meeting the pets and their owners, and hopefully putting them at ease at what can sometimes be quite a stressful time for them. I love the funny names we all give to our pets; we've just adopted 'Steve' the Guinea Pig who has become the latest member of our family, along with Dogs Lola & Jazz, Cats Tom & Poppy, and Horses Scribbles & America!

After working in various different roles over the years I decided on a career where my passion lies, with animals. In 2011 I graduated from Myerscough-Chester Gates School of Veterinary Nursing.

I have experience working within referral hospitals specialising in ophthalmology and neurology. Amongst other things I also have experience in cardiology, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, hydro and physiotherapy.

I came to Vets4pets at Chester Caldy in 2017 and it’s absolutely great! The patients and their owners are fantastic and the staff are all lovely people. It makes coming to work a pleasure.

My house is filled with small animals including my degus, Daisy, Liz and Amy, my rabbits Aubrey and Aleister and my hamster, Harry. When I’m not busy with my menagerie of animals, in my free time I really enjoy horse riding, baking and playing board games. I’m also partial to a bit of archery.

Most days I can be found cuddling a variety of animals in the surgery, particularly big dogs and small furries – although not at the same time!

Laurie Appleton

Client Services Coordinator

I joined Vets4Pets in October 2017 and have since been thoroughly enjoying being part of the Chester Caldy team. Prior to working here I was already a satisfied client at this practice. I have always found the staff to be friendly, empathetic and supportive and the treatment that my pets have received has been exceptional – which is exactly what attracted me to the job!

I live locally with my other half, my two rabbits, Lily and Mopsy and my dog Koda. I have always been an animal lover and would often drive my mother mad when I was younger, with my eagerness to take in waifs and strays!

You’ll usually find me on reception or else I’m probably in back nosing at what’s going on or making cups of tea! I love getting to know the patients and their owners, fostering great relationships and watching the animals grow and develop. There is always something interesting going on in the surgery, where every day is different and the local pets like to keep us on our toes!

I began my nursing career in 2005, I have always been happiest when around animals so working with animals was an obvious choice.

Before joining the Vets4Pets team here at Chester Caldy I had been working at a 24-hour small animal hospital in Cheshire, and prior to that in a practice in North Wales.

I enjoy all aspects of veterinary nursning, but I have a special interest in feline behaviour and I am the Cat Advocate for the practice.

I have two beautiful rescue cats at home, Bungle and Heidi.
