Meet the Christchurch Vet Team

Tom Mowlem BVSc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon & Joint Venture Partner

Tom started work in a rural mixed practice based in south Somerset before joining Companion Care in 1998 - opening the Poole branch before moving to the Bournemouth surgery in 2000. He became a JVP in 2002. Tom really enjoys the everyday hustle and bustle of general small animal practice and understanding the relationships between pet and owner. He has one dog – a border terrier called Buddy, and 2 rabbits.

In his spare time he enjoys driving and restoring vintage and classic cars, mountain biking, playing rugby and spending time with his four young children. His most recent surgery in Christchurch opened in November 2009, in partnership with Debbie Clarke.

Debbie Clarke BVSc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon & Joint Venture Partner

Debbie joined Companion Care Bournemouth in 2003 following her previous job in Hertfordshire and joined Tom as a JVP in April 2009. 

In November 2009, she teamed up with Tom again to open the Christchurch surgery. Debbie runs the Christchurch surgery and is qualified to perform acupuncture on pets - she also has interests in rabbit medicine and surgery. 

She has four cats and a collection of chameleons and corn snakes. In her spare time she enjoys researching and reptiles, keeping fit at the local gym, skiing horse riding and running her reptile shop Wild World Reptiles.

Sam King

Veterinary Surgeon

Sam joined the practice in 2015 after qualifying as a Veterinary Surgeon, 

During her time with us Sam has thrown herself into all aspects of pet care and has recently discovered her passion developing for soft tissue and canine surgery. 

In her spare time same enjoys visiting Bournemouth’s beautiful beaches and spending time visiting her family.

Amy Macklin

Veterinary Surgeon

Amy is our newest team member here and has fitted in beautifully. Amy did her work experience with us over three years so was familiar with the practice and clients before she joined. 

Her two dogs Squirrel and Cali enjoying spending time with Amy exploring all that Dorset has to offer. Amy is also a keen cyclist and enjoys running.

Tasha Badger

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Natasha joined the practice after working for another local vet in the area. Tasha has a keen interest in all aspects of pet care and offers mobile nurse clinics to help those who cannot visit the surgery on a regular basis. 

Tasha is kept busy by her young daughter and they enjoying spending time together in their free time. Tasha is a keen horse rider and has in the past competed in many competitions.

Tracey Chisham

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Tracy originally joined the practice as a locum but soon decided she wanted a more permanent place in our team. 

Tracey enjoys walking with her dog pip and looking after her trio of free range ducks. 

In practice Tracey has a great relationship with our clients and can often be found stealing cuddles from our inpatients.

Sandra comes from a finance background, but she loves animals and decided to come and work for Vets4Pets in 2006, subsequently qualifying as a veterinary nurse. In 2009, she helped set up our Christchurch practice and is now a key member of our nursing team.

Nikki Ball Veterinary Nurse Vets4Pets Christchurch

Nikki Edgelow

Veterinary Nurse

Nikki joined us in early 2010 after moving to Bournemouth from a veterinary practice in London. 

She has been qualified since 2005 and loves all aspects of veterinary nursing and animal care. Nikki has a small zoo at home consisting of a Labrador, a cat and two rabbits. 

Nikki enjoys spending her free time with her young daughter and discovering new doggy walks with Pickles.

Lorna Adams RVN

Veterinary Nurse

Lorna joined Vets4Pets having previously worked for the PDSA in Bournemouth and Black Dragon emergency service. She loves all aspects of nursing but has a special interest in critical care and wound management. At home she has a cat called Rosie and two African Pigmy Hedgehogs called Pedro and Carlos. In her spare time, she enjoys making jewellery and bridal tiaras and is learning Spanish.

Veterinary Nurse

Sarah has been with the practice since 2013 after qualifying as a registered vet nurse in 2012. 

She previously worked for a string of vets as her passion and knowledge for the job expanded. 

Sarah has the pleasure of owning a horse who goes by the name of Mr B. Sarah enjoys hacking through the New Forest and taking wonderful photos while on her travels, 

She is also a keen seamstress and enjoys making patchwork blankets.

Amy Borrett

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Amy has been with the practice since 2013 after taking a small break to have a second son. 

Amy previously worked for Companion Care Poole so is a familiar face around the Vets4pets and Companion Care family, She has a Cat called Winston and a Crested Gecko, sharing her love for reptiles with a few other members of the team. Amy loves to meet all of our clients and has a soft spot for all things furry.

Becky and Sukhi the dog Christchurch Vets4Pets

Becky has been with the practice since day one, followed closely by Zuhki who was born here at the practice a few months later. Becky and Zuhki can be seen most days here at the surgery or walking around Christchurch enjoying the sights. 

In her spare time Becky enjoys spending time with her son and helping those in need within the community.

Kate Christchurch Vets4Pets

Kate Piggott


Kate comes from a catering background and joined us in 2014 when she fancied a change of career. 

Kate is a keen keeper of reptiles and shares her home with Hans, her Yemen Chameleon, and Schlinky a beautiful brown, red and black King snake. 

In her spare time, Kate enjoys adventuring and Kickboxing and is making her way through the grades at an astonishing level.

Kirsty Cowell  Receptionist  Vets4Pets Christchurch

Kirsty Godsell


Kirsty joined the practice in January 2013. 

She previously worked for Pets At Home and has a lot of experience with the small furries. She really enjoys meeting all of our clients and making a fuss of their pets. 

In her spare time Kirsty is a keen photographer and artist. She shares her home with a giant house rabbit called Dr Watson who tends to rule the household.
