Colne Vets4Pets Helen Pratt

Helen Pratt BVSc, MRCVS, GP Cert SAM

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

Qualifying in 1997 from Liverpool University, I spent my first years in mixed practice in Cumbria and Derbyshire, before concentrating solely on small animal work, and have been practising in the Colne area since 2008.

I have a great interest in internal medicine, and extended my knowledge in the completion of a General Practitioners Certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2009. I have a particular interest in diagnostic imaging and dermatology.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with the hubbie and 2 daughters on the sheep farm with our 5 Border Collies, and intermittently annoying them all by playing the the ukulele...

Nicola Burnside BVetMed MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

After graduating from The Royal Veterinary College in 2000, I have spent the last 15 years in small animal practice. I have a particular interest in cardiology and am currently studying towards the RCVS certificate in advanced veterinary practice in this subject.

I have many pets some of which are rescue animals (a dog, two cats, two horses and five fish). Although my pets and youngest daughter take up a lot of my free time and energy, I also enjoy cycling, swimming and running. I will be attempting to complete an ironman triathlon later this year and hoping to raise lots of sponsorship money for the charity SCOPE.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I qualified in August 2010 from Myerscough College and have been in the veterinary industry for 11 years. I enjoy all aspects of my job but have a keen interest in small animal anaesthesia. I have a soft spot for rabbits and guinea pigs!

I have visited many local primary schools over the years to talk about my job as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, and enjoy sharing information on how to give the best care to your pet. I have rescued many animals over the years including our current dog, Betty and Ethel the rabbit.

When not in work, I spend all of my spare time with my partner and our one year old daughter painting and playing. I enjoy a good book with a glass of wine, and enjoy family time and little holidays.

Vicky Morley RVN, C-SQP

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I have over 10 years of veterinary nurse experience, qualifying from Myerscough College in 2004. I am most enthusiastic about the surgical side of nursing but also enjoy giving excellent nursing care if patients have to stay with us for a short while. I also have a very keen interest in behavior and I love running puppy parties.

I live with my fiance and when not at work, I look after our young daughter and am currently renovating our house. I have a rescue cat called Matilda, which I hand-reared from a few weeks old, two Dutch rabbits called Mario and Pip, a tropical fish tank and an aviary with cockatiels and quail. I currently don't have a dog but am looking for a rescue one to fill the gap...

Kate Sheriff-Blay RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I have been a qualified veterinary nurse for 16 years and worked within the veterinary field for 20 years. I completed my veterinary nurse training at a fantastic mixed practice in Blackburn and went on to be the Nursing Manager in 2004. I went on to join Vets4Pets in 2013.

Since qualifying I have completed further training to become a Diabetic advisor, Advanced Pet Health councillor and most recently qualified as a SQP. I am very passionate about veterinary nursing and pride myself on the care I provide. I particularly find senior care and emergency/critical care rewarding.

I live with my husband, two daughters, Jeff the Labrador and Vinnie a very placid British Short Hair. We also have 9 sheep and 4 pet Kune Kune pigs.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and your furry family members.
