Dover Whitfield Vets4Pets Carl Regan

Dr. Carl Regan BSc BVMedSci BVM BVS MRCVS

Owner and Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2013 having completed my veterinary degree. I completed my first degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare.

My main area of veterinary interest lies in exotic animal medicine, including reptiles, birds, rabbits and small mammals. I have undertaken exotics training courses and placements in Australia, Czech Republic and America. I also have a particular interest in surgery.

I enjoy walking, travelling, going to the cinema and am currently learning jujitsu. I have three cats (Thomas, Jim and Cleo) a bearded dragon (Rocky) and a degu (Houdini), who lives up to his name.

Owner and Veterinary Surgeon

From Longford in Ireland, I qualified at University College Dublin. Moving to England I opened the Companion Care Surgery in Ashford in 2007. My particular interest is internal medicine.

I have a rescue cat from Gibraltar called Bambino who very much makes himself at home whenever he visits the surgery, and a naughty little schnauzer crossed border terrier named Raya who comes to work every day and keeps us all busy with her cheeky antics.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I have been nursing in small animal practice since April 2009. I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in the summer of 2013 after three years of training. Since then, I have undertaken further training to become a clinical coach, which now means I am able to help train student nurses. I have particular interests in emergency and critical care, and general surgery.

I have a puppy called Ronald, who keeps me very busy when I'm not working.

It has always been a lifelong ambition to be able to work with animals, as previously I worked as an Assistant Manager of a Hotel.

I have a two year old Alaskan malamute called Koda, who I enjoy taking for long walks in my spare time.

I also enjoy socialising with family and friends, as well as going to the gym.

I have been involved with dogs and cats all my life and I'm passionate about animal welfare. My Grandmother was a breeder of cocker spaniels, and I used to breed, show and judge basset hounds, winning B.O.B at Cruffts.

I previously worked as a pet advocate, advising dog and cat owners on nutrition.

I have two British bulldogs and three grandchildren, who take up most of my free time.
