Marta Vet.png

Marta Biderman-Dursun DDM, MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon & Practice Partner

My name is Marta, I graduated in 2013 from the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, Poland. As my parents settled in Glasgow before I started my university course, it was natural for me to call Scotland my home and to move here straight away after graduation. I have various professional experience- Beatson Institute for Cancer Research was my first professional stop, then mixed practice till I settled in Vets4pets a few years ago. My favourite veterinary areas are dermatology, oncology and surgery.

In the future I would like to develop in orthopaedic surgery to deliver first class service in our practice to the patients in chronic pain. I love to work in first opinion practice - getting to know my patients and clients, and building relationships. Please don’t hesitate to say hello as you are always welcome in our practice! Privately I’m a happy wife, crazy Bulldog owner (Marshall is a wee rescued Bull) and Mum to be. Hope to see you soon.

Lorna Green RVN CertVNECC

Registered Veterinary Nurse & Practice Partner

Hey, I’m Lorna! I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1997 and have worked in veterinary practice since the age of 16. I have also worked in charities such as Battersea dogs home, Woodgreen animal shelters and in a 24 hour emergency hospital in London. I have worked within vets4pets since March 2015 and I am really excited about the opening of our new surgery and being part of the great team we have here.

I am extremely passionate about delivering the best possible care to patients and their owner and that is what has inspired me to become a practice owner. I have a menagerie of pets which include my German Shepherd Dougie, my Bearded Collie Kerry (who’s in the photo with me) and Fred the cat. I have two teenage kids who are too cool to be named and I have fostered 14 more over the years as a parent. In my spare time I work as a phlebotomist for the Pet Blood Bank and I am currently studying towards gaining my Anaesthesia Certificate having recently completed my Emergency and Critical Care certificate.

I’m looking forward to meeting you all with your pets and looking after them to the best of my abilities!

Jennifer Laming RVN CertVNES

Registered Veterinary Nurse & Practice Partner

Hi I'm Jennifer but most People call me Jen. I qualified from Barony College in 2013 after spending a few years training in a wonderful practice in Condorrat. I have worked mainly in first opinion practices in Glasgow and for an emergency out of hours service in Falkirk as well as locum shifts at some of the larger hospitals in the central belt.

I started my vets4pets journey in March 2015, moving to another Vets4pets surgery as a nurse and Practice Manager in late 2016 and now owning my own practice feels like the natural progression and a dream come true! For me the animals and clients come first before everything else so trying to give not only you but your pet the best possible experience I can when visiting the surgery is always my goal. Along side Lorna we are both dedicated to training the next generation of Vet nurses from various colleges and universities, so you may see the odd green stripey uniforms around and we are always happy to have a chat if you think Vet nursing may be for you.

I'm a bit unusual as I love the type of pets most people dont or are afraid off- snakes, lizards, birds and the sort. I love them all the more rare and unusual the better- and I actually enjoy the paper work side of things too! When I am not at work I am usually at home spending time with my boyfriend and our 8 a half month old daughter. We have 3 lovely dogs and a snake ,Zara a 9 year old Rottweiler, Lily a 6 year old whippet, Lucy a 6 year old mongrel (shes a pug cross Chihuahua cross Cavalier King Charles spaniel) and Carlos my Pueblan Milk snake who is 5 and half.

I can't wait for the surgery to open and meet you all and your pets. Feel free to pop by and say Hello!

Jennifer Meredith BVMS MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Hi, my name is Jenny and I have recently started at Vets4pets in East Kilbride. I qualified from Glasgow University in 2010 and since then have worked in various practices in Ayrshire and around the Glasgow area. I started my career in mixed practice initially but have spent the past 6 years in small animal practice. I enjoy all aspects of my job but have keen interests in surgery and dermatology. I perform veterinary acupuncture for pets with painful conditions and I am also an official government vet making me able to fill out pet passports. I am in the middle of studying for my CertAVP which I hope to gain in the next year or two.

Outside work I love spending time with my own animals which includes 6 cats, 2 dogs, some pet sheep, a pony and a horse. I am often called the cat lady as I have a soft spot for purrs and kitty cuddles! Walking my dogs in woods is one of my favourite things, and getting greeted by them as I walk through the door after work is the best. I ride and occasionally compete on my horse Oscar, particularly eventing during the summer months. When I am not busy with my animals I love going to exercise classes and music events. Rock concerts are my favourite!

I am looking forward to meeting all the clients and their beloved pets who I love helping.

Rebecca Kennedy BVMS MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Hi! My name is Becca! I am the new vet at Vets4Pets East Kilbride. I graduated from Glasgow University in 2017. love all aspects of my work but my favourite things are probably canine behaviour as well as surgery. I have a border collie cross german shepherd, Zeus who I rehomed nearly 5 years ago. When he came to me he was very fearful and reactive and he started my love of studying behaviour and has taught me so much about behaviou...r and canine body language! We compete in agility and love to go hiking, Zeus even has a backpack so as he has a 'job' whilst we hike :) I am a lover of high drive but cuddle bug dogs, collies are my breed of choice. I recently lost my fabulous little collie Izzy. She was full of life and love and we did so many things together. We did heelwork to music as well as agility, she excelled in everything she did!

You'll probably hear me talking about my dogs quite a lot. and I hope to provide your animals with just as much care and love as I would expect for my own

Gill

Client Care Advisor

Hello, I’m Gillian/Gill For the past year I have been studying Animal Biology and Conservation at New college Lanarkshire. During my time on the course I had the opportunity to study in Murcia, Spain for two weeks. I spent my time there in Clinica Veterinaria Levante helping assist with Neurosurgery and minor operations, and helping all the pets feel as comfortable and loved as possible post-op. I also visited PAPS Animal Rescue centre where I met the gorgeous puppies as seen above in the picture with me. I have also completed work experience in Vets around Rutherglen and East Kilbride. I also spent some of my childhood at Roundknowe Stables, where my uncle kept his horse, mucking out and making sure all the horses were happy!

I can’t wait to start working in Vets4Pets East Kilbride and to meet all the lovely pets and owners as they come in the door! I will be putting in my best efforts to make sure things run smoothly from the front of house and that everybody feels relaxed and happy in the waiting area, so don’t hesitate to approach if you have any questions or queries as i'll be more than happy to help with what I can.

I look forward to meeting you all when the practice opens!
