Meet the Gloucester Barnwood vet team

Gloucester Barnwood V4P Rebecca Benge.jpg

Rebecca MacMillan MRCVS

Owner and Veterinary Surgeon

Since my graduation from The Royal Veterinary College in London, I have acquired several years experience in first opinion practices. The first two years of my career were spent in a mixed role (farm, equine and small animals/pets) in North Cambridgeshire, but I most enjoy looking after small animals. So I decided to make the move back to the West Country to specialise in this. My subsequent roles have been in Gloucestershire and Bristol covering all aspects of companion animal care, including both routine and emergency cases. I am also currently studying for a post-graduate certificate in small animal medicine which I am hoping will benefit our patients in the future.

In my spare time I enjoy walking my dog George (a bouncy flat coated retriever) and I also like baking and cake decorating - cupcakes being a speciality!

I look forward to meeting you and your pets at the surgery soon!

Nikki Harker RVN

Owner and Registered Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in January 2012. Prior to joining Vets4Pets, I have worked in two small animal practices within the Gloucestershire area. During this time I have completed my training to become a clinical coach and have gained a good understanding of pet insurance.

I own a pug called Tilly who is three years old.

Ina Berzanskiene

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified in 2009 from the Lithuanian Veterinary Academy with a Masters Degree of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating I worked in a few small animal practices in Lithuania.

I moved to the UK in 2015 and I have worked sole charge at a mobile surgery before starting in a busy small animal practice in Wales.

I have joined Vets4Pets Gloucester Barnwood only recently, but I already feel like I have been here since it was open.

I have a ginger cat, called Mimas, but in the nearest future I do hope to get a dog or better even two! :)

Dr Susan Price BVMedSci BVM BVS MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2013 and have worked solely in small animal practice. I am interested in all aspects of general practice, in particular soft tissue surgery and preventative medicine.

In my spare time, I enjoy running and dog walking.

Suzanne Hall BSc (hons) RVN Cert Exotics and Wildlife

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2005 and have spent the past 10 years in a large mixed first opinion practice in the West Midlands and a small animal first opinion practice in Gloucestershire. I have a keen interest in the more unusual patients and completed the City and Guilds qualification in Nursing of Exotic Species and Wildlife in 2010.

I completed the Institute of Leadership and Management Clinical Coaching for Veterinary Nurses in 2012 and since then have helped three student veterinary nurses on their paths to becoming fully fledged registered veterinary nurses. This is something I hope to be able to continue in the future at Vets4Pets.

I currently own three dogs who I compete with in agility, flyball, breed showing and work in the field. I am also a qualified agility judge and team captain for the local flyball team.

Sarah Vincent RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2004 whilst working in a Mixed Animal Veterinary Practice in Herefordshire. During my 12 years in mixed practice I gained experience in all aspects of veterinary nursing. I also trained as a Canine Hydrotherapist working in a modern Rehabilitation Centre.

I joined Vets4Pets in September 2016 following a career break to start my family. I am thoroughly enjoying being back in practice and working as part of such a friendly and motivating team.

At home, we currently own a rescue Lurcher dog called Hoby, two loving rescue cats, two cheeky little guinea pigs and a Corn snake named Dave!

Jade Clarke

Veterinary Care Assistant

I graduated in 2011 with a degree in Animal Science. Since then I’ve gained experience in various work placements and retail roles, before going on to join the team at Gloucester Barnwood.

For the past year I have volunteered, once a week, at a local wildlife hospital. It’s a very rewarding experience and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to see the variety of wild animals they rehabilitate. Though I have to admit the hedgehogs are my favourite.

At home I have Freddie, my rather spoilt guinea pig affectionately known as ‘chunky’.
