Katie qualified from the University of Nottingham and joined Hartlepool Vets4Pets in October 2012. She has a passion for soft tissue surgery:

I love working here because we have a great team. I am part time because I am also a mum to a two year old boy and have another child on the way. At home, we have 2 dogs (a Labrador and a cross breed) and also a dwarf-lop rabbit.

Hartlepool Riana Briers Practice Manager

Riana Briers

JVP/Practice Manager

Gert and I moved from South Africa to the UK in 2005. We opened Hartlepool Vets4Pets in 2008.

My daily tasks include the practice admin, liaising with Support Office, taking care of and supporting the team.

Our lovely clients and their pets feel like our family and that makes it worth coming to work every day. The team at Hartlepool Vets4Pets stand together and we have loads of laughs here. In my time off, I love all kinds of crafts, reading and the great outdoors. Our 4 children (in South Africa) are all married and we have lots of grandchildren to spoil.

Barbara Matos

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Lisbon University, Portugal in July 2017, and moved to England to work at Hartlepool Vets4Pets two months later. I love working here, because of the great atmosphere between the staff. My veterinary interests are ultrasonography and internal medicine (specially endocrinology). In my spare time I like to cook and explore the north east area. I have a Husky cross called Snoppy in Portugal, which whom I Skype frequently.

Julie Crute

I have worked at Hartlepool Vets4Pets since 2012 as a Veterinary Care Assistant. I am passionate about meeting clients and their pets and giving the best advice and service that I possibly can.

When I am not at work, I love spending time with my 2 children at my allotment and looking after my two cats, Merlin and Willow.

Rebecca Prater

I graduated from Edinburgh University in July 2013, and after 2 years at a first opinion practice, moved to Hartlepool Vets4Pets in July 2015.

My veterinary interests are surgery and ultrasonography. I especially enjoy meeting lots of lovely clients and working alongside a fantastic team here at Hartlepool Vets4Pets.

At home I have 2 cats, Rhino and Moo, and enjoy gardening, baking, knitting and crochet in my spare time.

I have worked for Hartlepool Vets4Pets since 2012. I am responsible for booking appointments and getting your pets seen as possible!

Customer care is paramount to me and I always try and make the client and pet’s visit as positive as possible. I have a little 10 year old WestieXYorkie called Toto.

Karen Richardson

I have been working at Hartlepool Vets4Pets since 2014. The best part of my job has to be the team I work with. We are a close knit team and always help and support each other. I look forward to coming into work every day as it’s always interesting to see what the day will hold. Puppy hugs are a definite bonus of the job!

I am a mum of two grown up kids and have 3 cats: Dusty, Maisie and Gizmo. Maisie and Gizmo are rescue cats since I started working here!
