I originally worked for Vets4Pets in Ayr where I qualified from in 2014. Since then I have worked at The Royal Dick School of Veterinary Medicine in Edinburgh where I got experience in all areas of the hospital through ICU, surgical/medicine wards and exotics. I have also worked for local veterinary practices carrying out tasks such as monitoring anaesthetics, nurse consultations and patient care. I then started locum work mostly around Vets4Pets surgeries which gave me a great insight into how each individual surgery works. I have been part owner in Irvine since 2017 and recently became a partner in our Kilmarnock branch.

I really enjoy running nurse clinics as I find them really rewarding and feel like it builds up a really good relationship with both clients and patients.

At home I have 3 collies who I love spending time with and taking walks to the river for some fun.

When I left school I was lucky enough to get a training placement on a veterinary nursing course and after qualifying remained in veterinary nursing for over 10 years.

I changed career a couple of times as I explored and gained experience in other areas of work before returning to veterinary nursing when I joined Vets4Pets in Irvine. Some areas of the role had changed and others were thankfully more familiar; no 2 days are the same and I am always learning which keeps the role interesting.

I live with 2 dogs and a rather aloof cat who keeps us all in check. I do enjoy meeting the clients, their pets and hearing about the mischief they get up to.

I qualified as a Vet Nurse in 2005 and have always worked in small animal. I've been nursing for over 20 years.  This year I have taken on the role of Admin Manager so I deal with the insurance claims as well as other administrative tasks required.

When I do nurse, I work better with cats purely due to back and knee pain.  They're smaller and easier to handle without hurting myself. At home I have one dog, Taco, and two cats, Tinkerballa and Tri-Pawed.

After qualifying in 2019 I worked in a vets close to home in the north of England before I decided to move to Scotland for a change of scenery. Since then, I've worked in a mix of first-opinion practice and veterinary hospitals all over the country.  My favourite part of nursing is being a Wards Nurse, where I spend a lot of time with hospitalised patients ensuring they get the best possible care.

Whilst I don't have any pets at the moment, I love giant breed dogs and look forward to getting one in the future!
