Tamara Vela Gil

Veterinary Surgeon with interest in exotics

Tammy graduated from Zaragoza Veterinary College in 2000. She started working in a small animal veterinary practice and a zoological park as veterinary assistant that year showing early interest for exotic medicine from the very beginning. She then moved to Alicante (Spain) and has been working ever since as a small animal and exotic veterinary surgeon in different parts of Valencia and Alicante, having always a strong bias to Avian and small mammal medicine and surgery. Between 2008 and 2012, Tammy was requested to give several lectures in Italy and Spain about Bird and small mammal emergency medicine, husbandry, anaesthesia and surgery. In 2013, she moved to the UK and has been working in small animal practices since then. She joined our practice in April 2014. When she is not at work, Tammy likes socialising, going to the gym and shopping, and goes to Spain every time she can to visit family and friends. At the moment Tammy is studying a Postgraduate diploma from Barcelona University in Small animal surgery and Anaesthesia. She´s got four bunnies, Leelah, Gru, Cookie Monster and Toffee: all rescued.

Caoimhe Hodgins MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from the vet school in Dublin in June 2017 and joined Vets4Pets in September 2017. My interests are feline medicine and exotics. I did a lot of my student work experience in a cat only clinic in Dublin and I also travelled to Florida to work with a zoo vet in my final year of my degree.

I don’t have any pets here in King’s Lynn (hopefully I will in the future!) but I have a cat called Pounce who lives in Ireland.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading and travelling and I’m a massive Harry Potter and Disney fan.

Maria Day Vets4Pets Kings Lynn

Maria Day

Head Nurse

I started off here at Kings Lynn in May 2013 as a locum and haven’t left since! I have been working in Veterinary practice since 2001 and qualified as a Veterinary nurse in January 2005. I lead a busy life outside of practice with my 3 children Sam who is 17, Harry who is 8 and Libby who is 5. I have been married to Paul for 15 years and together we run our farm which has 150 sheep, 12 Aberdeen Angus cattle and one of the biggest herds of free range, pedigree Gloucestershire Old Spot Pigs in East Anglia, from which we produce our own top quality meat and sausages. I adore my dogs and have been breeding Border Terriers for nearly 19 years. I also have 2 working sheep dogs, whose talents never fail to amaze me and two farm cats who work very hard to keep the rodent population down. I have a real passion for working with all animals large and small and wanted to work with animals from around the age of 10. I love lab work and enjoy consulting, meeting both clients and their animals.

In my spare time, (HA!!!) I enjoy spending time with my children and my pets (especially my sheep and my dogs) and enjoy socializing with my friends.

I have been working in practice for 4 years and joined Vets 4 Pets in 2015 and I qualified as a veterinary nurse in April 2017.

In my rare spare time I look after a Jack Russell, an army of cats and a bossy bunny.

I enjoy caring for critically ill animals the most and watching them return the full health with the attention and care of my fellow colleagues which is very rewarding

Amy Frude

Student Veterinary Nurse

I joined the veterinary industry as a student vet nurse in 2015. Since then I have never looked back!!

When I'm not doing work related studying, I like to spend time at my allotment. I grow fruit and veg and tend to my chickens that live on the allotment.

I also have 3 cats at home called Patch, Cleo and Daisy who give me a run for my money most days.

Aleks Czyz

Student Veterinary Nurse

I started my Veterinary Nursing degree training in September 2015 and joined the team in February 2016. I am really looking forward to my graduation, which is in October 2018.

I love all kinds of animals, the big and the small, hence the reason I love working at Vets4Pets so much. I really enjoy consulting as it gives me the opportunity to build a relationship with the owner as well as getting to know the animal better. I also enjoy theatre days.

In my free time I love spoiling my cat, Tessy, spending time with family and friends as well as my Chow Chow, Aura and cat, Tosia, which I unfortunately don’t spend as much time with as they live with my parents. I also like watching movies and travelling.
