Vets4Pets Kirkcaldy Lucanne Perry

Lucanne MRCVS

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

After I graduated from the Royal Dick Veterinary College in 2009, I worked as a small animal Vet alongside Heather when she was a trainee Nurse.  In the past I have worked as a locum in many different practices across the country which has challenged me and broadened my experiences greatly both personally and professionally. This experience allowed me to gain insight into new techniques and how different practices can work, as well as expanding my main areas of interest in surgery, dentistry & emergency/critical care.  I always put in great effort to achieving any goal I set myself which allowed me to become a Joint Venture Partner at my favourite locum practice here in Kirkcaldy in 2014.  I think it is extremely important to form trusting and sympathetic relationships with my clients and I always strive to strengthen these bonds to provide the best possible care for both my patients and their owners.

At home I enjoy going walking with my Shelties, Struan & Logan, and being entertained by my feisty yet lovable cat, Phoenix.  I have a passion for music and love going to live concerts and festivals, as well as spending time with my crazy friends and family!

Heather RVN

Owner & Registered Veterinary Nurse

Since qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse from Edinburgh's Telford College in January 2011 and joining the Vets4Pets team when we first opened in November of that year, I have gained confidence in the new skills I have developed.  I am thrilled to have taken on the exciting role as a Joint Venture Partner in 2014.  I love having the opportunity to meet and provide care to all the new faces that come in to see us on a daily basis.

I have a special interest in animal behaviour and the nursing of small furries - which I am sure comes from being the owner of two cheeky guinea pigs, Moss and Lily, and a fun loving cat called Maude.   In my spare time I enjoy a variety of activities ranging from socialising, cycling and gym-going, to crafts, knitting and baking!

I joined Vets4Pets when we first opened back in November 2011. I have always worked with animals since leaving school, from farms and stables to pet shops and Vets. After finishing my NC & HNC in animal care in 2001, I have worked mainly in Small Animal Vet Practices and pet shops. I enjoy meeting new clients and their pets and enjoy seeing our regular visitors.

I joined the Vets4Pets team in Kirkcaldy in 2013 and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. My aim is always to provide a friendly welcome as well as great service for new and existing clients and their pets. After studying NC and HNC Animal care, I knew I wanted to work in a veterinary environment where I know animals are treated with the best possible care.

I have two cats at home, Sooty and Sophie, they are brother and sister and 16 years old; they are always after the attention in my house probably because they have been spoilt rotten!  In 2015, I rescued a happy hamster called Wee Jimmy, who is so spoiled he’s not so wee anymore!  I enjoy reading and socialising with a wee glass of wine or 2!

Veterinary Care Assistant

After studying NC and HNC Animal Care I joined the Kirkcaldy Vets4Pets team in July 2015. I enjoy working in practice and gaining the experience to go on to study Veterinary Nursing. From a young age I have had a passion for animals and always knew this was the line of work I wanted to go down. I enjoy working with the team and being hands on looking after your pets every day!

At home the house is ruled by my pets, a crazy Border Collie named Aleu and three cats; Sooty, Alfie and Jinxy. The house is never quiet with my little fur family. In my spare time I enjoy reading, drawing and painting; my speciality is pet portraits.

I joined the Vets 4 Pets Kirkcaldy team in 2015 – and what an opportunity it has been! I have already gained lots of new knowledge and skills, which are continuing to grow along with my passion for the job each day. I really enjoy getting to know all of our regular visitors and I am so lucky to meet lots of friendly new faces, I especially like meeting the furry faces - getting lots of puppy cuddles is definitely a perk of the job!

At home, I enjoy socialising with my friends and family and love to eat out.

Veterinary Care Assistant

After moving to Edinburgh in the new year of 2016, I was happy to accept a Veterinary Care Assistant role with the team at Vets4Pets. Since graduating with my Zoology degree in 2003, I have enjoyed working in the veterinary care sector with many practices over the years and I hope to further my knowledge with the opportunities and responsibilities I have been given here.

I have a specific interest in building a rapport with clients and giving advice on everything from training and behaviour, feeding, basic care and first aid, and I love seeing the results of the owners' efforts.

In my spare time I make jewellery and customise clothing as well as painting commissions and generally being artsy!I am also an avid fan of Ru Paul's Drag Race and follow the best queens around the UK!

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in July 2015 and I have been working as a small animal vet since then. I love the challenges of the job and find my work very rewarding. I am particularly interested in Cardiology and Anaesthesia. Since graduating I feel I have learnt a lot and still build on my skills every day.

Outside of work I have a passion for sport, especially cricket and football. I also love to travel, my favourite place I have been so far is Australia, and next on my list to visit would have to be New Zealand.
