Meet the Liverpool Speke vet team

Veterinary Surgeon

My name is Cristina. I am one of the full time Veterinary Surgeons of the V4P Speke team. I qualified from the University of Madrid in 2001 and have been working in the UK since graduation. I have completed a one-year rotating internship at a busy referral practice in Essex and since then I have worked in first opinion and referral both in hospital and branch settings. In 2011 I gained a GP Certificate in Dermatology awarded by the European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ESVPS) and I am currently enrolled for the Postgraduate Certificate on the same subject.

I have consequently undertook referral cases in Dermatology having a particular interest in allergic skin disease. I have also developed a strong interest in Phytotherapy (commonly known as Herbal medicine) and gained further formal qualifications on this subject by the College of Integrative Veterinary Practice (CIVT). I do enjoy applying this knowledge into my day to day practice in combination with modern medicine to approach mostly chronic cases in a holistic way.

I am a member of British Veterinary Dermatology Study Group ( BVDSG) and British Association of Veterinary Herbalists ( BAHV) When I am not looking under the microscope and off work, I enjoy spending time with my cat “Talullah” and walking with my little French Bulldog “ Spot”, training in the Gym and a little bit of Salsa dancing!

Veterinary Surgeon

My name is Laura, I am one of the veterinary surgeons and I've been working at the practice for 1 year. I enjoy all aspects of the job but I have developed a particularly strong interest in small animal soft tissue surgery.

Outside of work I enjoy playing the ukulele and piano and growing my own vegetables. I can often be found meditating to the tranquil sounds of the ocean with my delightful cat “Happy,” perched peacefully on my knee.

Practice Manager

I joined the practice in June 2016 as Practice Manager. I have worked in the Veterinary world for 35 years and have enjoyed my journey which has brought me here to work with this amazing team at Vets4Pets Speke.

I originally started in practice as a Veterinary Nurse, then moved to Reception then Administrator and HR bringing me to today’s role.

I live in Bolton and travel daily along with my canine companion “Purdi” who since being 7 weeks old has come to work with me.

I enjoy baking, travel and dancing, and off course my job.

Hi I’m Charlotte and I have been a VCA here at Vets4Pets Speke for 3 years. You will see me and my dog Bella in the practice at weekends, whilst I study at university during the week.

Veterinary Care Assistant

My highest academic achievement is an honouree degree in Zoology. Studying this subject gave me a particular liking to one animal, the octopus; with its ability to survive in extreme situations.

Currently, the pets I keep are not the typical hairy creatures you come to love. I own two snakes: a python and a corn. Also a crested gecko that has an amazing temperament. I also love dogs which lead me to attending a dog training course which is run by the Association to Pet Dog Training. In my spare time, I read science fiction and regularly go to the gym.

I am married to Paul and have two pets, my dog Ellie, a Jack Russell who is six, and a cat, Moses, who is 19.
