Payments, Fees and Costs

Important information for our payments, fees and costs policies

Fees & Costs

Vets4Pets Loughborough is a private veterinary practice. The fees charged pay towards staff salaries, training and continuing professional development, the building and running costs of the practice and the equipment we require to provide the best service to your pets and help diagnose serious illness.

Receptionists can provide costs for set prices such as vaccinations, our packages, and consults, nail clippings (and these fixed prices are also on our Facebook page). 

During a consult the vet will provide you with an estimate (not a quotation) as to the probable cost of a procedure or course of treatment. Please note that an estimate can only be approximate: often an animal’s illness will not follow a predictable or standard path due to the nature of their illness or condition.


Missed Appointments

Please let us know at least 12 hours before your booked appointment if you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment.

There have been 2359 missed appointments since we opened in May 2013. This equates to approximately 6 months of appointments that other worried clients and their sick pets may have needed. Unfortunately due to this lost time our current policy is that for those clients that have already missed one appointment, and where an appointment has not been cancelled with at least 12 hours notice, we have to charge a £10 fee for each appointment missed.

To try to reduce the numbers of missed appointments we can send you a text message 24 hours before your appointment time (just check your current mobile phone details with us) and we print your next appointment on your receipt.


Payment of Fees/Insurance

It is policy that payment is made at the time of treatment. We accept cash, and most credit cards (but not cheques).

In the event that your pet is insured you can pay us the full amount and then make a claim back from your insurance company at a later date. Alternatively, in circumstances where there are larger bills to pay, we can organise a claim direct from the insurance company. However, we need to perform some checks on your policy and your pet’s clinical history before we can go ahead with a direct claim.

We provide an insurance claim recovery service free of charge. We can either assist you with your claim to the insurance company or in cases where there are larger bills to pay we can do a direct claim. Both are subject to a check of the pet’s clinical history, the client providing proof of insurance, and giving the necessary consent for us to liaise directly with their insurance company.

This is 0% interest free and is repayable over 12 months, direct to Close Brothers. To apply for finance you will need to fill in an online form and pay a deposit between 15-50% of the estimated bill.
