Vets4Pets Merry Hill

Meet the Merry Hill vet team

Monish Malhotra JVP Merry Hill

Monish Malhotra MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon and Partner

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2003. I worked in the Birmingham area in small animal practice for two years before I began working as a locum all over the UK to gain experience. I then worked and travelled around Australia and New Zealand for 2½ years - this was an amazing experience which allowed me to gain invaluable insight into differing clinical practices.

I enjoy being a vet general practitioner, especially the close interaction and relationship between vet and patient. I love providing an excellent service to all my clients and patients - both old and new.

Outside of work I am a sports enthusiast, love to read and I am also a movie buff. My rescued Rottweiler, Beyonce, enjoys coming to work with me regularly!

Cosmin Balan MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I was born in a small town in Romania, and graduated the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. I then moved to the UK that same year, where I began work as a Meat Hygiene Inspector, ensuring food safety at several abattoirs within Scotland. Getting this job within Vets4Pets really meant a lot, as my dream was always to work in a veterinary clinic. I feel lucky to be surrounded by a supportive team who have been very welcoming & have helped the growth of my career.

Ewa Czernicka MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Warsaw University of Life Science, Poland. I worked in a small animal clinic in Poland before I came to the UK 10 months ago. During my unvicersity time I was a member of IVSA-international Veterinary Student Association, which gave me an opportunity to participate in many research projects I also had a chance to do intership in one of the Equine Hospital, Oakdale, CA, USA.

My professional interests lie in surgery and imaging and in my spare time I love to travel- one of the most amazing places where I have been are Elephants Rescue Centre in Sri Lanka & beautiful Greenland. During my winter time I like to do snowboarding & summer sailing.

I am very happy to be a new member of the Companion Care Team and I am going to do my very best to provide owners & their pets the highest level of care.

Alexandra Stan MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Bogdan Florescu MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I was born & raised in Romania, I studied veterinary medicine in Iasi, where I graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in July 2016.

During university I volunteered & worked inside a veterinary clinic that mostly dealt with small animals, but I also had the chance to work with farm animals for a couple of weeks.

I've always loved animals and one of my dreams was to move to a country that would give me the opportunity to interact with as many animal species as possible. Fortunately this dream came true in 2017, when I was given the chance to join this team.

Outside the work schedule, I enjoy visiting museums, old historical places, and when nobody is listening I really enjoy a good karaoke!

Mircea Cebotari MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

After graduating The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine back in my hometown of Iasi, Romania I decided on a fresh start and moved to England. This transition was easy as the people here had always welcomed me with an open heart. I got to know different people from all walks of life, I got to make unexpected friends, and slowly I found a home here.

Back in Romania I used to practice veterinary medicine at a dairy cattle farm, a job which I truly loved, but at the end of the day I'm a dog person at heart and I got into this field for this particular reason.

I'm glad that I could join this wonderful team and I'm happy knowing that I'll always do a job that brings joy both to me and my patients.

Marta Cziriak MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Alexandra Scripcariu MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Iași, Romania June 2017. I really love the profession I have chosen and have a great passion in this sector. I wanted to do my best to become a good veterinary surgeon... so I decided to take this opportunity and move to the United Kingdom. Even though I left my country just 2 months after my graduation I have no regrets because here at Companion Care & vets4pets I have met a great team and I have extraordinary vets beside me who share their experience and knowledge with me. Back home in Romania I have a German Shepard his name is Ricky. Since he was a puppy he was very naughty and mischievous but I love him with all my heart and I miss him dearly. In my spare time I like Reading, watching Cartoons, cooking and I love long walks. I very much look forwards to meeting all of our clients along to way and our pet patients!

Ionut Iurciuc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Iasi Romania in 2015. During my studies I’ve completed internships for both small and large animals. I became a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in London in March 2017 and soon I have the opportunity and pleasure to be employed with Companion Care Vets and their extraordinary team.

Being a vet surgeon is the best challenge for me because I have to consult patients who do not speak, who can’t say in which area there are dysfunctions, patients who often react simply instinctively; so I must be able to "read" the clinical signs of the patient, interpret, diagnose, and intervene for solving the disease. With every happy owner I feel like I’ve achieved my purpose.

I have my best friend Tasa, a 7 year old boxer, here in the UK with me. She is a lovely companion, the best partner for outdoor activities and my constant source of joy.

Elena Ignat MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Iasi, Romania in 2017. I came to the UK 7 months ago. My first job here was as a Meat Hygiene Inspector. I grew up with a variety of domestic animals and maybe because of this, I developed a great passion for them.

In Romania, I have a Labrador named Chelsea, and in my free time I like to travel, to read and to spend time with my friends. I am very proud to be a part of the Vets4Pets team.

Head Veterinary Nurse and Clinical Coach

I started at companion care back in 2012 as a student nurse and graduated as an RVN in 2016. I over see the clinical running of the practices and am a clinical coach to our nursing students. I am currently working towards a specialist certificate in emergency and critical care.

I throughly enjoy working between our three practices especially conducting weight loss & diabetic clinics, as well as having a keen interest in orthopaedic surgery and wound management. I am fond of large breed dogs with a particular soft spot for staffies- stemming from my own crazy staffie Marley. I am extremely passionate about providing the highest level of care to all of our patients and look forward to meeting new clients and their beloved pets everyday.

Ilias Nestoratos MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I am Ilias and I am happy to have recently joined the team at Companion Care & Vets4Pets. I qualified as a vet in Iasi, Romania in 2013, and worked as a vet in Greece gaining experience in both small animal and larger farm animal environments. I have been a registered vet in the UK since 2016 and have been looking to broaden my professional horizons and further develop my skills, and I have also worked in quality control services. My main interest is small animal surgery, and I am committed to ensuring that the best possible treatment and medical care is provided.

I grew up in the countryside, and a cat or a dog were never missing from my house, so it did not take long for me to realise my interest in the field. I consider myself lucky to be doing what I love and to provide care and treatment to animals who mean so much to their owners.

After work I enjoy playing football, which I am a big fan of, and spending quality time with friends, which always helps me to wind down after a long day

I am very happy to be a member of the team at Companion Care & Vets4Pets, and I am excited to meet my four-legged patients!

Liz Roberts BSc (Hons)

Practice Manager

I graduated from the University of Northampton in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Applied Animal Studies, and then started working at Companion Care/Vets4Pets in early 2013.

During my time at the practice, I have been involved in a variety of roles - from reception to nursing, and have now progressed to my current role as the manager. My role largely involves administration duties, & overseeing the general running of the practice. I also have the huge task of submitting & overseeing all the insurance claims at all our branches, & I am the resident insurance expert! I am passionate about growing our three practices, and am always looking to improve the care & service provided to our patients & owners.

I have a keen interest in dog behaviour & training, & have a particular soft spot for both spaniels and collies - I have previously owned several spaniels & currently own a rescue dog called Molly who is a 5 year-old Springer Spaniel cross Collie (pictured with me here). I also own a very fluffy, Norwegian Forest Cat called Cleo, two guinea pigs called Richmond and Moss, and 3 hamsters called Buffy, Willow, & Neville - all my pets are rescue animals, and most of them have various health problems or physical defects! In my spare time I also enjoy cooking & reading.

Beth Golding

Student Veterinary Nurse

I am currently training as a veterinary nurse at this clinic whilst studying the Level 3 diploma in Veterinary Nursing at Halesowen College. I also did voluntary work at this practice for several months prior to starting my training which gave me more experience of a variety of animals. I am very proud to be part of the Vets4Pets Merry Hill team. I have experienced service from both ends as prior to starting here I was also a customer and brought my own dog to this practice & have seen that all the staff have the same passion for providing the best possible care and experience to every animal that visits us.

I have always had a passion for animals, so choosing a career path was extremely easy for me. In the future, I aspire to become a fully-qualified veterinary nurse, and hopefully own more animals! I currently live with my Shih-Tzu Oscar and my rabbit Charlie both of whom I adore!

I've recently joined the team at Companion Care Oldbury, and I am thoroughly enjoying my time here - meeting all the lovely, dedicated clients and their pets.

I attended Coventry university and graduated with a BA Honours degree in Dance and Theatre, so I have a background in performing arts, however I was looking for a change in career & I can't wait to see what the future holds for me here.

I have had a few pets over the years, and currently have a handsome cat called Louie who has been by my side for 7 years. I definitely have a soft spot for cats and puppies, and I enjoy meeting each patient that visits the clinic.

After years of working for a corporate company and then being made redundant I decided to use my redundancy money towards a long time passion of mine to work with animals.

I entered into college as a mature student and obtained my National Diploma in Animal Care and then went on to start my HND in Animal Management at Solihull College. During my college time I entered into many work placement experiences which included Hoo Farm & West Midlands Safari park which just fuelled my passion all the more.

After college I secured my first full time paid animal job at Brockswood animal sanctuary where I looked after animals and students.

Currently I work as a Dog Groomer part time, and at Vets4Pets/Companion Care on weekends, which I have enjoyed so much that I am hoping to return to college to train as a vet assistant or vet nurse, so 'watch this space'
