Meet the Merry Hill vet team

Monish Malhotra JVP Merry Hill

Monish Malhotra MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon and Partner

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2003. I worked in the Birmingham area in small animal practice for two years before I began working as a locum all over the UK to gain experience. I then worked and travelled around Australia and New Zealand for 2½ years - this was an amazing experience which allowed me to gain invaluable insight into differing clinical practices.

I enjoy being a vet general practitioner, especially the close interaction and relationship between vet and patient. I love providing an excellent service to all my clients and patients - both old and new.

Outside of work I am a sports enthusiast, love to read and I am also a movie buff. My rescued Rottweiler, Beyonce, enjoys coming to work with me regularly!

In 2002 I graduated from the university of Agricultural Sciences & Veterinary Medicine. “Ion lonescu dela Brad’ ladi, in a beautiful country, Romania.

After graduation, I have worked for a while in my country, then in 2011 I had the opportunity to come to England when I found a new job & I became member of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in London. I have recently joined Companion Care at Oldbury, where I have found a new great team who supports me a lot to deal with clinical cases everyday. I hope to develop new skills each and every day & gaining a lot of experience during next years, because I consider its very interesting & rewarding to be involved in a variety of caseload & interact with the owners and beloved pets.

In my spare time I enjoy watching comedies & travelling, visiting museums, visiting historical places together with my friends whenever possible. My favourite animals are horses and dogs.

Back in Romania I owned a little Pekingese that had been having heart problems since a very early age, however, thanks to permanent medication she reached the age of 16! Unfortunately, I have been always busy working & living in different areas of England I have no yet had another pet however, I hope this will soon change!

My professional interests lie in surgery and imaging and in my spare time I love to travel- one of the most amazing places where I have been are Elephants Rescue Centre in Sri Lanka & beautiful Greenland. During my winter time I like to do snowboarding & summer sailing.

I am very happy to be a new member of the Companion Care Team and I am going to do my very best to provide owners & their pets the highest level of care.

I qualified from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest, Romania. I spent the following two years working as a veterinary surgeon in a renowned small animal practice in Bucharest.

This experience made me gain a lot more knowledge in internal medicine and surgery! It is a great pleasure for me to work in our Oldbury Clinic with such a great medical team. My love and passion for animals has become my work, that’s the reason I love this job so much. In my spare time I like to read, play tennis, to travel and spend quality time with my family. I was born & grew up in Lithuania, and have always dreamt of becoming a veterinary surgeon & working with animals since I was about ten years old. So after graduating secondary school, I entered the Lithuanian University of Heath sciences, which I graduated from in 2016. During my university years I did internships in small animal practices.

My experience comes from practice placements & voluntary work with small animals. I enjoy all aspects of small animal practices, but I have a particular interest in small animal surgery. In my spare time I enjoy photography, as well as walking and jogging. I have also rescued & adopted two elderly black cats which I love dearly!

I am a newly qualified nurse and began as a student here over five years ago after completing A levels in biology, chemistry, physiology and art. I have a particular interest in orthopaedic surgery and wound management. I also hope to complete an emergency certificate in the near future.

I thoroughly enjoy working between our three practices, especially conducting my weight loss and diabetic clinics as they allow me to build a close relationship with both owner and patient.

I am very fond of large breed dogs with a soft spot for Staffies, this stemming from my own crazy staff Marley. In my free time I enjoy dog walking and reading.

Liz Roberts BSc (Hons)

Practice Manager

I graduated from the University of Northampton in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Applied Animal Studies, and then started working at Companion Care/Vets4Pets in early 2013.

During my time at the practice, I have been involved in a variety of roles - from reception to nursing, and have now progressed to my current role as the manager. My role largely involves administration duties, & overseeing the general running of the practice. I also have the huge task of submitting & overseeing all the insurance claims at all our branches, & I am the resident insurance expert! I am passionate about growing our three practices, and am always looking to improve the care & service provided to our patients & owners.

I have a keen interest in dog behaviour & training, & have a particular soft spot for both spaniels and collies - I have previously owned several spaniels & currently own a rescue dog called Molly who is a 5 year-old Springer Spaniel cross Collie (pictured with me here). I also own a very fluffy, Norwegian Forest Cat called Cleo, two guinea pigs called Richmond and Moss, and 3 hamsters called Buffy, Willow, & Neville - all my pets are rescue animals, and most of them have various health problems or physical defects! In my spare time I also enjoy cooking & reading.
Beth V4P Merry Hill

Beth Golding

Student Veterinary Nurse

I am currently training as a veterinary nurse at this clinic whilst studying the Level 3 diploma in Veterinary Nursing at Halesowen College. I also did voluntary work at this practice for several months prior to starting my training which gave me more experience of a variety of animals. I am very proud to be part of the Vets4Pets Merry Hill team. I have experienced service from both ends as prior to starting here I was also a customer and brought my own dog to this practice & have seen that all the staff have the same passion for providing the best possible care and experience to every animal that visits us.

I have always had a passion for animals, so choosing a career path was extremely easy for me. In the future, I aspire to become a fully-qualified veterinary nurse, and hopefully own more animals! I currently live with my Shih-Tzu Oscar and my rabbit Charlie both of whom I adore!

I previously worked at Pets at Home & during that time I gained hands-on experience with numerous animals, and completed several animal-related exams. This experience in the animal industry reinforced my natural passion for animals and made me want to pursue a higher level of training. I am hoping to return to college to train as a fully-qualified vet nurse in the near future.

I am an avid video maker and most of my free time is spent making short films and videos. I'm also a huge football and boxing fan. I have a particular soft spot for the larger dog breeds such as Saint Bernard’s and Mastiffs. I volunteered in the equine industry for over 5 years before getting a horse of my own. During this time I have also owned a variety of small animals, and currently share my home with my cockapoo Milo, 1 Gerbil, 3 Rats, and a cheeky English Lop who thinks he is a dog. After years of working for a corporate company and then being made redundant I decided to use my redundancy money towards a long time passion of mine to work with animals.

I entered into college as a mature student and obtained my National Diploma in Animal Care and then went on to start my HND in Animal Management at Solihull College. During my college time I entered into many work placement experiences which included Hoo Farm & West Midlands Safari park which just fuelled my passion all the more.

After college I secured my first full time paid animal job at Brockswood animal sanctuary where I looked after animals and students.

Currently I work as a Dog Groomer part time, and at Vets4Pets/Companion Care on weekends, which I have enjoyed so much that I am hoping to return to college to train as a vet assistant or vet nurse, so 'watch this space'

I've recently joined the team at Companion Care Oldbury, and I am thoroughly enjoying my time here - meeting all the lovely, dedicated clients and their pets.

I attended Coventry university and graduated with a BA Honours degree in Dance and Theatre, so I have a background in performing arts, however I was looking for a change in career & I can't wait to see what the future holds for me here.

I have had a few pets over the years, and currently have a handsome cat called Louie who has been by my side for 7 years. I definitely have a soft spot for cats and puppies, and I enjoy meeting each patient that visits the clinic.
