Natalie Ohara.jpg

Natalie O’Hara

Practice Owner & Manager

Natalie has been working within vet practice for over 10 years and has worked in both large and small animal practices. Natalie is a qualified animal nursing assistant and is currently studying veterinary nursing at South Staffordshire College. Natalie has a keen interest in nurse clinics and has a particular interest in weight management.

Natalie also enjoys stock management. Natalie is the cat advocate for the practice as we are a feline friendly practice. Natalie has two rescue dogs Monty and Petal. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, walking the dogs and socialising. 


Melanie Patten

Practice Owner & Registered Veterinary Nurse

Melanie qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1996 and has over 20 years’ experience in small animal practice. She holds the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Medical) and is also a clinical coach for Student Veterinary Nurses.

She enjoys nurse clinics, especially puppy socialisation. Out of work she is kept busy looking after her family, her 2 Collies, Joseph and Robbie and an elderly cat called Katy. In her spare time she enjoys agility training with her dogs and going to the theatre.

Fernando Lebre

Veterinary Surgeon

Fernando qualified from the university of Lisbon in 2011. Fernando is from sunny Portugal and came to the UK in 2016. Fernando previously worked in his home country once qualified and then moved to China to work in a small animal practice.

Fernando has a keen interest in internal medicine and clinical pathology.

Fernando has a Labrador called Safari. In Fernando's spare time he enjoys watching football and playing tennis.

Laura Davidson

Veterinary Surgeon

Laura qualified from the Royal Veterinary college London in 2004 and has since worked in small animal practice.

Laura currently Locums in small animal practices across Nottingham but we are lucky enough to have her on a regular slot on a Monday and Wednesday and some weekends.

In Laura's spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and crafting. Natalie and Melanie have previously worked with laura so wanted to bring her into the team as soon as the practice was busy enough.


Katie Hurst

Student Veterinary Nurse

Katie has been working at Chilwell since we opened and is currently studying Veterinary Nursing at Nottingham Trent University.

Katie helps out on reception but we are very pleased to be having her for her placement to complete her nursing degree. Katie enjoys expanding her knowledge and is looking forward to learning more about anaesthesia and surgical nursing.

Katie has a Labrador called Poppy, a cat called Oscar and two horses called Chloe and Cika. In her spare time she enjoys horse riding, walking her dog, visiting the cinema and socialising with friends.

Laura Rocchelli 

Senior Receptionist

Laura joined Vets4Pets Chilwell in June 2017, she has over 7 years of experience of working as a receptionist and is passionate about client care. From a very early age Laura has had a real love for animals and has had a variety of pets over the years including hamsters, rabbits, chinchillas, chickens, cats, budgies, stick insects & giant African land snails.

Laura is a Pet Plan Insurance Advisor and is happy to assist you with your insurance queries.

She currently owns two shorkies called Dolly Doodles and Peppy Sparkle and two budgies called Spike & Storm. In her spare time Laura volunteers at chetwynd primary academy and is part of the school fundraising team, she enjoys long walks in the Peak district with her dogs and children and also enjoys watching movies and catching up with her friends in the gym.

Kelly Martin


Kelly has worked as an auxiliary nurse within vet practice for over 20 years, and she enjoys meeting the clients and their pets of all shapes and sizes. She is passionate about animal welfare and currently works full time at the Dogs' Trust rehoming centre.

She has 3 dogs of her own: 2 black Labradors and a French bulldog puppy as well as 2 grown up daughters. In her spare time (which isn’t very much!) she enjoys walking her dogs and spending time with friends and family. Kelly has previously worked with both JVPs and helps out on the reception at weekends.
