Natalie O’Hara

Joint Venture Partner, Practice manager

Natalie has been working within vet practice for over 10 years and has worked in both large and small animal practices. Natalie is a qualified animal nursing assistant and is currently studying veterinary nursing at South Staffordshire College. Natalie has a keen interest in nurse clinics and has a particular interest in weight management.

Natalie also enjoys stock management. Natalie is the cat advocate for the practice as we are a feline friendly practice. Natalie has two rescue dogs Monty and Petal. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, walking the dogs and socialising.

Melanie Patten

Joint Venture Partner, Registered Veterinary Nurse

Melanie qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1996 and has over 20 years’ experience in small animal practice. She holds the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Medical) and is also a clinical coach for Student Veterinary Nurses.

She enjoys nurse clinics, especially puppy socialisation. Out of work she is kept busy looking after her family, her 2 Collies, Joseph and Robbie and an elderly cat called Katy. In her spare time she enjoys agility training with her dogs and going to the theatre.

Sophie Broughton

Veterinary Surgeon

Sophie qualified from Bristol University in 2011 and has worked in mixed and small practices since. She particularly enjoys medical cases and is looking forward to doing her certificate in small animal medicine.

Sophie has previously worked with both JVPs in previous practices and also worked alongside Natalie when she was training to be a vet. Sophie has a Cavalier King Charles called Bumble. Sophie also enjoys treating wildlife along with Fee. Outside of work Sophie enjoys dancing and going to the gym.

Fiona Cook

  

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Fiona, known as Fee has been nursing for 9 years and qualified in 2013. She has previously worked with both JVPs. Fee genuinely loves and is passionate about this profession. Her favourite aspects of the job are emergency and critical care and caring for exotics and wildlife.

She is also a clinical coach for student veterinary nurses. Fee hand-rears, raises and releases a lot of wildlife in her spare time, hedgehogs being her main love! Fee has lots of pets of her own; Archie the Lurcher, Maxxie, Murphy and Sid Vicious the cats, Henry the Horsefield Tortoise and Debby and Daffy the ducks. All waifs and strays from her work over the years! In her spare time she enjoys going to music and comedy gigs, walking the dog, films, cross stitching and eating out (especially sushi!).

Katie Hurst

Student Veterinary Nurse

Katie has been working at Chilwell since we opened and is currently studying Veterinary Nursing at Nottingham Trent University.

Katie helps out on reception but we are very pleased to be having her for her placement to complete her nursing degree. Katie enjoys expanding her knowledge and is looking forward to learning more about anaesthesia and surgical nursing.

Katie has a Labrador called Poppy, a cat called Oscar and two horses called Chloe and Cika. In her spare time she enjoys horse riding, walking her dog, visiting the cinema and socialising with friends.

Kelly Martin

Receptionist

Kelly has worked as an auxiliary nurse within vet practice for over 20 years, and she enjoys meeting the clients and their pets of all shapes and sizes. She is passionate about animal welfare and currently works full time at the Dogs' Trust rehoming centre.

She has 3 dogs of her own: 2 black Labradors and a French bulldog puppy as well as 2 grown up daughters. In her spare time (which isn’t very much!) she enjoys walking her dogs and spending time with friends and family. Kelly has previously worked with both JVPs and helps out on the reception at weekends.

Hannah Morgan

Receptionist

Hannah has worked as a receptionist for the past nine years. She enjoys meeting clients and their pets. Hannah is a huge animal lover and has previously rescued many pets over the years. Hannah is a Pet Plan Insurance Advisor and is happy to help and advise with insurance queries. Outside of work Hannah enjoys road cycling with her husband, going to the gym, long walks and socialising with friends.
