Dr. Rachel Maier BVM&S MRCVS

Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1999 and have worked in small animal practice in the south-east of London ever since, apart from a year in 2006 spent teaching veterinary medicine at a university in central China.

I love being a vet and enjoy being able to make a difference to the wellbeing of animals and the families they belong to. My main interests are small animal medicine, ultrasonography and exotic animal medicine. I'm very happy to be working with such a capable and caring team here.

Outside work, I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and two young children, swimming, and walking.

Kate Dalakjana MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from the University of Agricultural Veterinary Faculty, Latvia 2008, and have been working in small animal practices since then. I love all aspects of my work, and am particularly interested in diagnostics and internal medicine. Outside of work I enjoy travelling the world, photography and gardening.

I have 2 cats: a male Bengal called Leopold, and a female Savannah called Manutin (both pictured). My favourite famous animal is the big, beautiful dog, Beethoven!

I love meeting all the clients and their pets!

Leigh RVN

Deputy Head Nurse

I qualified with a First Class Honours degree in Veterinary nursing and graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in July 2017. After locuming for a few months at practices at which I had undertaken my training, I began working at Vets4Pets Old Kent Road in October 2017. I love all aspects of veterinary nursing but particularly enjoy nurse consults as I get to meet lots of patients as well as provide advice and support to their owners.

I have a very energetic 2 year old Labrador called Alfie and so a lot of my free time is spent taking him for walks!

Veterinary Care Assistant

I have been working as a Veterinary Care Assistant for Vets4Pets since September 2016. I love the team I work with and enjoy spending time with the animals giving them plenty of attention.

One of my hobbies is DIY, which I put to use around the practice fixing equipment from the printer to the laboratory machines. My other hobbies include caring for my many house plants; I have over 60, eating great food and walking around London photographing brutalist architecture. I Studied at Chelsea College of Art where I gained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art which I put to use making unique furniture for my home.
