Meet the team

Dr Andreea Ionescu

JVP & Veterinary Surgeon

I become a vet in 2009 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Bucharest, Romania. This is the job I have always dreamt of having since I was a child. Growing up my family had all type of pets in the house - dogs, ducks, chickens, even lambs in the winter - and all this in a 2 bedroom flat in the middle of Bucharest! So, in this way, I developed a very strong empathy for animals and the desire to become a "doctor for animals".

During the 5th year of University, me and two of my colleagues opened a Veterinary Clinic in Bucharest - where I worked as a veterinary surgeon for 6 years. After I gave birth to my son (now 2 years old), me and my husband decided to come to the UK to start a new life and to settle down. So, in January 2016 we did the big move! I started my journey as a vet in a practice in London, where I worked for around 6 months. After this I decided to set up my own practice, where I have the freedom to do medicine my way.

I am very interested in Small Animal Internal Medicine, Animal Behavior and Emergency and Critical Care. I love to spend my free time with my son and family, and we spend a lot of time outdoors. We enjoy camping, exploring the mountains and being at the seaside. I love to listen good music, to read a good book and to go skating or swimming. I miss having a pet - we intend to have one in the near future after we settle down here. In the meanwhile I can't wait to take care of your beloved pets in our practice here at Vets4Pets Pontypridd!

Rachel Nealon

Student Veterinary Nurse

Hi I'm Rachel! I completed a HNC Diploma in Animal Studies before joining the Vets4Pets team here at Pontypridd as their veterinary care assistant.

I enjoy working with all species of animals, but I have a serious passion for cats!! I've got four cats at home, Jasper, Millie, Sox and Gucci the Siamese, and I have a bearded dragon named Nesta. I enjoy assisting the vets with the care of the animals and I treat each patient with the love and care as if they were my own.

I am thrilled to be training as a nurse here at Vets4pets Pontypridd and am looking forward to a busy but rewarding career taking care of your precious pets!
