Vets4Pets Poole

Meet the Poole vet team

Jo Reynolds BVSc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon and Practice Owner

I qualified at Liverpool University in 1997. After a couple of years working on the Wirral I relocated to Dorset and worked in several local practices. In 2003 I took the plunge and opened my own practice on Ashley Road and 14 years later am very proud of the quality service offered by the whole team at Poole Vets4Pets.

I have over 20 years’ experience in veterinary medicine and my special interests include skin conditions and all types of surgery. I live locally with my vet husband, two young children, a black Labrador and two extremely fluffy rescue cats from Margaret Green Animal Rescue.

Dr Victoria Hutchison BSc (Hons) BVetMed MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Hello! My name is Tori and I joined Vets4Pets in October 2016. I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2011 and have been working in small animal practice ever since. My professional interests include internal medicine, imaging, clinical nutrition and dentistry.

I have a teeny tiny dog called Maya who comes to work with me every day and I really enjoy taking her for walks along the beach and around Bournemouth. I am an active member of my local church and I also love running, cross-training and swimming. I balance my love of exercise with a healthy love of baking and I keep my colleagues supplied with freshly baked goodies as much as possible!.

Dr Alexandra Allison BVMedSci (Hons) BVM BVS MRCVS

I graduated from Nottingham University in 2013 and joined V4P Poole in early 2015 after working in a small animal practice in Salisbury and travelling in Australia. I started an MSc in One Health in September 2016 and so I’m now working part time here at Vets4Pets Poole. My particular interests include dermatology and soft tissue surgery. I have a rescue cat called Mozart, Earl of Blandford, who is much loved!

Karen James RVN

Head Nurse

I joined the practice when it first opened in 2003. I have 3 Shetland Sheepdogs which I compete in agility and have competed at many major finals such as Cruft’s and Olympia. I have a particular interest in dog training and behaviour. I now work part time as I have 2 small children too!

Emily Bartlett DipVN RVN

Veterinary Nurse

I have been nursing since 2012 alongside a lovely team of colleagues, and recently qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in July 2017. I have a keen interest in medical nursing and emergency and critical care. Both give me one on one time with patients and enable me to get to know more about the patient’s personalities and personal quirks whilst in the hospital with us.

I love being able to provide care to patients enabling me to observe their personal improvements overtime. I have two Staffordshire Bull Terriers called Kano and Millie who both enjoy a fuss with lots of kisses and long cuddles.

Hayley Somerville RVN

Veterinary Nurse

My first job as a student veterinary nurse was in 1998, fresh from school! I went on to complete my training to qualify as a veterinary nurse and then joined the register of veterinary nurses as an RVN in 2005.

I love my job and all aspects of nursing but especially enjoy laboratory work and surgical nursing. When I am not at work looking after patients I am at home looking after my two children and our adopted cats Mr Jones and Little Miss.

Sarah Young RVN

Veterinary Nurse

I began working in veterinary practice in 2002, and I qualified and registered as a Veterinary Nurse in 2008. I started working at Vets4Pets in 2014. I enjoy all aspects of nursing, but have particular interest in surgical, medical and critical care nursing. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, and am kept very busy looking after my two children. I have a cat called Harry, who is notorious amongst my colleagues for being quite a feisty character!

Jenny Marjason SVN

Student Veterinary Nurse

I have been at this practice since 2014 and am currently studying veterinary nursing, hoping to qualify in 2019. I love working with animals and helping both patients and clients with their needs. At home I have a flat coat retriever called Bracken, a cat called Coby & 2 guinea pigs!

Outside of work I love spending time with family & friends, walking the dog and particularly coaching taekwondo! Anything which gets my adrenaline going excites me, for example fly boarding or parachute jumping!

I look forward to meeting you all and your lovely pets!

In my spare time, I enjoy walking my 3 dogs at the beach and wildlife photography.
