Meet the Preston Capitol vet team

Thomas Hindley MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon and Practice Partner

I have worked at Preston Capitol as a vet since it first opened in November 2013. I grew up on my parent’s farm in South Africa and this is where my love for animals began. I studied at the University of Liverpool, graduating in 2011 with honours in Veterinary Conservation Medicine.

I own two dogs and one rabbit and love nothing more than taking my two dogs Dylan and Marlowe for walks along any available beach. I enjoy seeing the journey shared between pet and owner and have special interest in internal medicine and orthopaedics.

Outside of work I relish the opportunity to go cycling or running in the countryside followed by a trip to the pub or a nice café.

Veterinary Surgeon

Hello, I am one of the Vets here at Preston Capitol Vets4Pets. I am originally from Sweden and joined the team in July 2016 after graduating from Brno University in Czech Republic. I eventually settled in England after meeting my partner Lee.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and camping in the Lake District. I have a real passion for rabbits and enjoy everything about them. That's why I adopted two from Pets at Home, called Freja and Little B. My other passion is soft tissue surgery. I enjoy the challenge that surgery can bring as no two procedures are the same.

District Senior Nurse

Hello, I joined the Vets4Pets team in March 2016 as District Senior Nurse. I have been working in practice since leaving school and first qualified as an Animal Nursing Assistant in 2009, then a Registered Veterinary Nurse in September 2013. In January 2014, I became a clinical coach which allows me to train and support new students as they are taking their journey to become qualified nurses. This includes training them on the job and help them to complete a lengthy online portfolio. I love all aspects of nursing, however my main interest is within inpatient care and surgery.

I am originally from Hampshire and moved up to Preston in June 2014. Most of my spare time is spent with my husband, Charlie enjoying various leisure activities and visiting family and friends. I have two wonderful dogs, a Yorkshire Terrier called Betty and a Patterjack called Sydney.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Hello, I am one of the registered veterinary nurses (RVNs) here at Preston Capitol Vets4Pets. I knew I wanted to become a veterinary nurse at a young age after having taken my rabbits into a clinic to find out how best to care for them. Whilst in high school I decided to undertake work experience in a local practice to broaden my knowledge on what a nurse role is and it certainly opened my eyes.

I got a place at Myerscough College in 2013 doing the 3-year foundation degree course which I qualified from in July 2016. I am now working full time in this clinic whilst continuing with my education by completed a BSc (Hons) in veterinary nursing which I hope to graduate from next year. I am also a clinical coach for student veterinary nurses (SVN) which consists of helping them gain both practical and theory based skills that they will need to sit their practical examinations.

I have a cross breed (Cavapoo) called Bobby and two rabbits called Smokey and Misty. In my spare time, I enjoy watching horror films, going on long walks and socialising with my friends and family.

Student Veterinary Nurse

Hello! I’ve been here since we opened back in November 2013! I started as a Receptionist and moved on to be Client Care Manager before becoming a student veterinary nurse. I hope to qualify next year and become a registered veterinary nurse (RVN).

I have gained my CA-SQP qualification, meaning I am able to prescribe certain medication to your furry and feathered friends. I’m always studying something new in addition to my nursing studies and am currently doing my ISFM feline nursing certificate.

Once I qualify, I hope to go and gain my advanced nursing certificate and complete my emergency critical care module so I can give greater care and understanding to our patients and clients.

I have two cats, a white furry monster called Zelda who has one blue eye and one green eye and a three-legged monster called Skip See you all soon! :) xx

Sarah Harrison

Practice Manager

Hello, I’m the Practice Manager here and I've been working for Vets4Pets since November 2011.

I also work over at our sister practices in Preston and Lytham St Annes. I have two dogs, Gizmo a shih Tzu cross and Doris a Yorkshire Terrier who I gave a forever after home to after she was brought into Easterleigh animal sanctuary a couple of years ago.

My favourite thing about coming to work each day is working with my fantastic colleagues that are like an extended family and seeing our lovely clients and watching their pets grow up.

Whenever you’re passing, feel free to drop in for a brew and a biscuit :)
