Helen Merriman

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I was born and bred in Manchester, attending Manchester High School for Girls. I qualified as a Vet in 1996 from the University of Liverpool and have worked in and around Greater Manchester ever since.

My four-legged family includes two Italian Spinones, Cocoa and Frank and two rescued cats, Phoenix and Betty, who has three legs. The two legged family includes a husband and two sons. And not forgetting the tropical fish and koi!

I am proud to be serving the pets and their humans of Prestwich and the surrounding areas. I am confident that you will be happy with the personal care that my team and I aim to provide.

Joanna East MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as a vet in 2010 in Poland and I completed a year in Portugal as part of the Erasmus exchange programme.

I moved to the UK in 2012 where I've settled into married life with my husband and our dog Pixel, a crazy Jack Russel.

I have a particular interest in animal welfare and have volunteered for the WVS on a neutering project in Greece.

Alongside working at Vets4Pets, I also work at a charity veterinary hospital in Manchester. In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, training for obstacle courses and hiking.

Louise Swain RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I have always had a keen interest in animals, particularly in wildlife, and completed an Animal Science Degree at Worcester University in July 2009. I started nursing in January 2010, and after studying for two years at Myerscough college, became a qualified, Registered Veterinary Nurse in September 2012.

Since then I have worked in a couple of small animal first opinion practices, before joining the team here at Vets4Pets Prestwich. I love the fact that every day in this job is different and as much as I love working with our furry friends, I also enjoy interacting with their owners! My furry family consists of two male guinea pigs called Daddy Pig and George!

Steph Clegg

I love all aspects of nursing, especially nursing rabbits and other small furries!

I love meeting new people and in my spare time I love to spend time with friends and family along with baking lots of delicious treats.

I am proud to say I am a Student Veterinary Nurse at Vets4Pets in Prestwich, because I get to work alongside a great team!

I look forward to seeing you and your pets soon.

I love being involved with the pets and their families. My experience with animals comes from always having a variety of pets growing up. I have a shih tzu called Suki who we love.  It’s great working as a team.  Who wouldn't love cuddling kittens, puppies and small furies all day as part of your job. BONUS.

Beth Field

I have always had a strong passion for all animals since a young age with the ambition to work with and alongside them. To begin this adventure I studied Animal Management in college then moved from my home town in Redditch to Salford in 2013 to study Wildlife Conservation with Zoo Biology at university.

Now a graduate, I happily continue to live up North with my husband and our rescue GSD cross, Benny, our two bunnies, Flopsy and Maxie and lots of fish!

My main goal in life is to one day have my own animal sanctuary. I would also love the opportunity to travel overseas to work with charities that help rescue animals and help make positive changes to animal welfare. To help achieve this I need to continue to gain valuable experience. I find myself extremely lucky to have the opportunity to work within a veterinary practice working alongside colleagues who share the same compassion towards animals.  But also who wouldn't want to be surrounded by animals on a daily basis?
