Meet the Rotherham vet team

Eric JVP Rotherham

Eric Rouviere CertSAS GPCertSAS

Veterinary Surgeon & Partner

I always knew that I wanted to be a vet and from a very young age I took a close interest in animals. I gained my veterinary degree at the University of Madrid and made the UK my permanent home soon after. I quickly came to realise that I had a particular passion for surgery. Whilst working as a full time vet in a small animal hospital, I achieved my Certificate in Small Animal Surgery accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. I have also run a successful Soft Tissue Referral Service in Doncaster.

I have been nearly 10 years in South Yorkshire, so I feel like a "Yorkshire lad" with spanish blood!

As a pet owner myself I am passionate about providing the best standards in care for the animals that I treat and their owners. This has always been and will continue to be, my first priority.

Rotherham Sharon Receptionist

Sharon Taylor

Hi my name is Sharon and I am one of the receptionists for Vets4Pets in Rotherham. My favourite animal is the horse and I have owned three ponies in my lifetime, I just love riding and I used to compete at local level along with my daughter at Maltby District Riding Club. At the moment we have Ralph the Springer spaniel, but have had numerous cats dogs & hamsters, when my children were young.

I am a local Rotherham girl, I went to school and got married in Rotherham. My previous role was 20 years in the Rotherham Borough Council, where I gained many customer service skills both face to face and on the phone. I exercise these skills now with Vet4Pets and will give you a very warm welcome at our reception or on the telephone.

Customer care is very important to me and all my colleagues, therefore we strive to give an excellent service to all of our customers.

Rotherham Abbey Receptionist

Abbey Ogden

I live in Rotherham with my parents and my sister. I previously worked in admin for a project management company but have also worked as a volunteer at the Yorkshire Wild Life Park and Thornberry Animal Sanctuary, as my passion is working with animals. I love working for Vets4Pets as I get to provide excellent customer care while meeting and having cuddles with everybody's lovely pets at the same time!

What is your favourite animal and why?
My favourite animal is a Tiger, they're just beautiful animals and I love it when they act just like domestic cats!

What pets do you have and what are their names?
I have 3 cats Tink, who only seems to like me, Cinders who loves everyone and Pip who's very cheeky and wants everyone’s attention.

What is the best pet name that you've ever come across?
Dumbledore the hamster has to be my favourite so far!

What is your favourite famous animal?
Simba from Lion King

Gemma Flinders RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

What is your favourite animal and why?
I love wildlife. I visit Scotland a lot and spend quite a bit of time in the countryside so I have had the pleasure of seeing some amazing wildlife! Because of this I'd have to say a barn owl! For their grace and beauty!

What pets do you have and what are their names?
I have a Rottweiler cross called Bob who is always in need of a cuddle!, a rescue shepherd called Piper, she has had a very rough past so gets lots of TLC now, my little old lady, Meg who is a fox red Labrador, and the reason I'm a registered veterinary nurse, Little Molly, is my very bossy cat who keeps the dogs in check. Finally my boy, Egon who is a working cocker spaniel. He comes almost every where with me and loves nothing more than a spot of canoeing and dog agility!

What's the best pet name that you've ever come across?
Mr. Beefy the bull dog

What is your favourite famous animal?
Doug from up! I love him, he never fails to make me laugh and reminds me so much of my Egon!

Tracey Freeman Receptionist Vets4Pets Rotherham

Tracey Freeman

Receptionist/Veterinary Care Assistant

After supporting my husband of 19 years whilst he served in the British Army, he suggested it was my turn to follow my dreams and work with animals! I’m currently studying towards my Veterinary Care Assistant qualification with the College of Animal Welfare. Originally from Lancashire, we have recently settled in Maltby to be closer to family. After living around the country for the last 2 decades, we’ve found there’s nowhere quite like Yorkshire!

What is your favourite animal and why?
I love rats, years ago I had a rat called Arthur (as in R for Rat), he was awesome, he was very well trained and surprisingly very clean!

What pets do you have and what are their names?
I have two beautiful cocker spaniels, Ambrose is 9 and Peggy is 7. Ambrose is very chilled and as long as he’s fed twice a day and goes for a walkies/sniff, he’s a very happy boy. Peggy is your typical spaniel; she loves her cuddles and has lots of energy.

What's the best pet name that you've ever come across?
Elvis the Pug

What is your favourite famous animal?
It has to be Scooby Doo, because he has a wicked sense of humour and an appetite like mine!

What is your favourite animal and why?

I absolutely adore Giraffes!! I have a collection of Giraffe ornaments and pictures all around the house (much to my husbands dismay!). They are so beautiful and majestic, what's not to love?!

What pets do you have and what are their names?

I have 2 cats and 1 dog all rescued from a local charity.

Stanley and Yoshi are both black and white short haired cats and each have their own little personalities which brighten up my day! Layla is a very fluffy Border Collie cross with a knack for breaking in to bins and fridges! All have been given a second chance through adoption after being rescued from various situations and I doubt they will be my last rescue pets!

Grumpy Cat! He is so grumpy he never fails to make me laugh!
