Elijah Mbuthia

Veterinary Surgeon & Partner

My name is Elijah. I have been a vet for about 22 years working in research and in busy first opinion veterinary hospitals abroad and in the UK. I am passionate about internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.

I live in Northolt with my family. Proud father to 2 teenage daughters and an adopted 3 year old cat named Tiger. Outside of work, I love nature walks, cross country jogging, reading and DIY carpentry, tiling, painting etc. Apart from English, I speak four other languages but I’m still trying to learn new ‘pet languages’.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I have always wanted to be a veterinary nurse and have worked in veterinary practices since I was 16 years old. My journey started as a Patient Care Assistant with another surgery where I was given the opportunity to go to college to study as a Student Nurse. I continued my studies and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in August 2017.

I live at home with my two young sons and wife. We currently own love birds, a parakeet, a corn snake, tortoises, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, cats and a dog. In our spare time we also pet sit creatures of all shapes and sizes.

Student Veterinary nurse

I have always had a great passion for animals and have loved to look after them ever since I can remember. I am currently studying to become a Veterinary Nurse as it has always been a dream of mine. I have been working with animals since I was 16 and volunteered in rescue centres and veterinary practices to gain more experience and knowledge.

I currently have a German shepherd cross called Duchess, she was adopted from the RSPCA. I have always wanted a rescue dog because it is so rewarding to see what a difference you can make. I additionally have tropical fish and have grown up with them and rabbits from a young age. The rabbit in my picture is called Alfie and I recently adopted him from Pets at home. He was staying with us for a few days because he was poorly. I was nursing him back to health and I fell in love! In my spare time I enjoy exercise, whether that’s going to the gym or running with my dog.

Veterinary Care Assistant

Whilst growing up I’ve always aspired to be a Veterinary Nurse. I have gained experience at different vet practices as well as wildlife rescue centers and with that knowledge I am currently working as a veterinary care assistant. I really enjoy what I’m doing at the moment especially as my job is very hands on with the animals and I’m learning something new every day.

I have a Collie cross called Callie and have owned previous animals including hamsters and a range of fish. In my spare time I attended Air Cadets which has given me useful life skills that I use day to day.

Receptionist

Having previously worked as a team leader in medical sales and space, range and merchandising. I now enjoy my time doing something completely different working here at the Vets4Pets surgery as a receptionist and learning about animals and their wellbeing.

I have always had pets from a young age and currently own 3 cats Alfie, Ollie and Louie who love dreamies and enjoy leaving me ‘presents’ on my doorstep when I get home along with 1 rabbit, 1 hamster, fish and 5 guinea pigs. I have a fiancé and two grown up daughters, who I enjoy spending time with as well as socialising with friends.

Receptionist

I’ve always had a love for animals ever since I was little, which is why I applied to be a veterinary receptionist. I currently have an English Bulldog called Frankie and two hamsters called Marshmallow and Biscuit. I also have a rescue cat called Ninja and 2 leopard geckos called Lemon and Lime. I regularly puppy sit 6 dogs, a Husky-Boxer cross, 2 Shih Tzu poodle mixes, a Westie, a golden retriever and a Kooikerhondje.

Growing up I had a lot of experience caring for animals as my mum bred pedigree golden retrievers. The house was always full of animals including my other pets which included an African grey parrot, cockatiels, 2 rescue cats, rabbits, hamsters, Indian runner ducks, tropical fish, stick insects and rats.

Receptionist

Having worked in the international corporate business world for many years I wanted a change of pace while still working with a professional and dedicated team. And that team is here at Vets4Pets in South Ruislip. I knew them “from the other side of the desk” as they have been my Vet Practice since I moved to the area. The chance to become part of the team was too good an opportunity to miss.

I have been an animal lover since I was a child and over the years have had dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, budgies, canaries and chickens… Dogs remain my greatest love and I would have a house full given half a chance. I live in Ruislip with my fiance and his 3 children. The little monster in the picture is our cat Mister; he’s a cutie really and totally spoilt.
