Meet the Ruislip vet team

Elijah Wainaina Mbuthia JVP

Elijah Mbuthia

Veterinary Surgeon & Partner

My name is Elijah. I have been a vet for about 22 years working in research and in busy first opinion veterinary hospitals abroad and in the UK. I am passionate about internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.

I live in Northolt with my family. Proud father to 2 teenage daughters and an adopted 3 year old cat named Tiger. Outside of work, I love nature walks, cross country jogging, reading and DIY carpentry, tiling, painting etc. Apart from English, I speak four other languages but I’m still trying to learn new ‘pet languages’.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

My name is Andrew. I have always wanted to work with animals and have worked in the veterinary industry since I was 16 years old. My journey started as a Patient Care Assistant with another surgery where I was given the opportunity to go to college to study as a Student Nurse.

I live at home with my young son and long term girlfriend. We currently own love birds, a parakeet, corn snakes, tortoises, rabbits, cats and a dog. In our spare time we also pet sit creatures of all shapes and sizes.

I started working at the practice over a year ago on reception, I have since progressed onto training as a Veterinary Care Assistant and look forward to starting as a Student Nurse. I have always had a passion for animals so it’s a dream come true to finally be doing something that I love.

At home I currently have two cats, Mowgli and Mia. Along with Halloumi the hamster I also have a very cheeky border Collie Freddie. In the past I have had hamsters and Giant African Land Snails. In my spare time I like to be in the outdoors and catch up with friends.

My name is Gail. I have always had a love for animals so came out of early retirement to work as a part time receptionist. I previously worked as a Night Shift Manager with a supermarket for 8 years.

I live with my partner and two daughters along with our extensive furry family. We have Custard and Captain Morgan, two rescue Guinea Pigs, the former with only one eye. Along with Delilah and Pip, two female guinea pigs, we have Hammy the rescue Syrian Hamster I acquired since working at the practice. Then there are Alfie and Luna the rabbits. Followed by Alfie, Louie and Ollie the resident cats of which Louis was also a rescue. In my spare time I like to go on exotic holidays and relax in the garden with a nice glass of wine.
