Ian Griffiths BVM&S MRCVS

Practice Owner and Veterinary Surgeon

I am originally from Chester and qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon at the University of Edinburgh in 2010. Following graduation, my first job was at a small animal practice in Wolverhampton which gave me experience in all aspects of veterinary care and ultimately I became responsible for the majority of surgical cases. In addition, I worked with the local greyhound track providing the veterinary care and emergency treatment for the racing dogs and the local retired greyhound trust, which is something I have a passion for.

With the expansion of the Pets at Home the opportunity then arose to become a Joint Venture Partner at Vets4Pets in Solihull. Whilst awaiting the opening of our new Solihull branch I worked for several local Vet4Pets practices providing experienced locum cover.

The most rewarding aspects of being a vet is helping clients on a daily basis and building long term relationships with pets and their owners. I have a keen interest in surgery (particularly orthopaedics) and I am currently finalising further qualifications in surgery.

I live with my girlfriend Rachel and our thoroughly odd cat Chester in Birmingham.  I am a keen hockey player and I continue to play for Wolverhampton and Tettenhall whenever possible.

Kerri Walker

Head Veterinary Nurse

I started nursing in 2014 as an ANA, I moved to Vets4pets Solihull as I felt I would be able to be involved in a more varied case load. I am very nearly close to qualifying with only my practical's in December left to do. I also have an interest in canine and feline behaviour in which I hope to do a further qualification in.

I have two lovely scruffy dogs, Dotty a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen and Hugo a lively terrier X. I recently acquired a guinea pigs Harvey, who was meant to be temporary house guests but never left as he was too adorable.

Since I have been here I have gained a wealth of experience with small furries and non-routine procedures. I enjoy working at Vets4pets Solihull as we work well as a team.

April Baugh

Veterinary Care Assistant

I started off my journey into the veterinary world as a receptionist, I’ve always been very passionate about animal care and welfare and have volunteered with several rescue centres working with cats, dogs and even hedgehogs. I’ve grown up with a wide range of pets and would always be the first to volunteer to look after school pets. I have recently taken on a stray cat called Mustang. With this experience and my love for all animals, I feel veterinary nursing is the perfect role for me. I am working towards my veterinary nursing qualifications and gaining experience and knowledge in my role as a VCA. The team are supportive and have helped me feel comfortable and confident in all my roles here.

Client Care Advisor

I have always been interested in animals from a young age. At college I studied animal management and have a level 3 diploma for this. My past jobs have all involved animals and this includes: a kennels and cattery, pet sitting and working as a Veterinary care assistant at another vets. I joined vets4pets in January 2019 as a client care advisor, I am passionate about client care alongside the animals! I have always owned pets and at home currently: I have two cats called Violet and Vinnie, as well as two rabbits and a hamster.

Client Care Advisor

I’ve have always been an animal lover growing up owning numerous small furries ranging from hamsters to rabbits, over time this has helped me develop a real passion wanting to work with all animals. I started this by studying animal care and management at Solihull College for a total of three years which ultimately led me to my first job at Pets at Home. I became a small animal advisor within my first year and developed not only animal pet knowledge but people skills which built up my confidence.

Only after being at pets at home I figured out I wanted to work up inside a vet practice to learn more about the medical side. Which has lead me to my current role as Client care advisor which I started in Jan 2019! After having many small animals my love grew and I brought a Boston terrier dog called Luna, she has not only taught me so much she has become a part of my family and world.

Client Care Advisor

All my life I have wanted to work with animals and originally started out at the Dogs Trust in Kenilworth. I helped and trained the dogs that had challenging behavioural issues and really enjoyed the difficulty but also the enjoyment in then getting these animals an amazing home.

Since the arrival of my baby boy, I have come to Vets4Pets and become the Senior Client Care Advisor. I have brought my interest of animal behaviour into the practice and run clinics with our Head Nurse Kerri which we really enjoy doing. I have many of my own rescue animals including my bouncy Rottweiler Tyler, two rabbits Nala and May and two cats AJ and Isla. They each pose their own challenges but I love them dearly.
