Matthew Plummer BVSc MRCVS

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I consider myself almost a local to the area as I grew up just south of Bath and went to Vet School at Bristol, where I graduated as a vet nearly 12 years ago. I have a strong family farming background and have been a lover of animals for as long as I can remember.

When the chance came to work in Trowbridge again with my long term friend Mark, I couldn’t resist; it was the opportunity of a lifetime – I really enjoy owning and running my own clinic. For the first time in my veterinary career I became truly free to implement the standards of client and pet care I always wanted to.

In my spare time I am a keen Bath Rugby supporter and enjoy spending time at home with my partner and young son. Now that the rugby boots have been hung up for good I enjoy gardening and DIY.

I really hope to see you at the clinic soon, where you will be assured to receive a warm and personal welcome.

I'm a straight forward sort of chap with a passion for caring for animals. I love nothing better than a good old chin wag about all things pet! I qualified from The Royal Veterinary College in 2001 and have a wealth of experience with small animal 'vetting'.

I pride myself on good clinical standards bundled with great customer service. For me, the two go hand in hand. Offering a friendly, dependable service for pet owners to rely upon is what gets me out of bed in the morning...well that and my young family and two dogs 'Seamus' and 'Tallulah'.

In my spare time I like nothing better than spending time with my wife Vicky and son Caleb. I can often be found at the Rec supporting my beloved Bath Rugby or out in the country side walking to a tucked away pub for a bite to eat and a pint to drink, preferably with family, friends and dogs for company!

I qualified from Bristol in 2009 and, having grown up in Wiltshire, I returned to the area to start work in mixed practice. I spent three years in mixed practice in Somerset and Wiltshire and I've spent the last three years working as a small animal vet in Salisbury, where I have enjoyed most aspects of medicine and surgery.

I live locally with my fiancé and in my spare time I enjoy riding my horse, Copper, and walking my lovely labradoodle, Luka.

Originally from South Africa, I have recently graduated from Bristol Vet school as a mature student. I am enjoying all aspects of veterinary work, with cats being a particular favourite of mine, and have a special interest in feline medicine. In any spare time at work I’m likely to be found in the cattery having a cuddle, or on the floor playing with a puppy.

I live in Wiltshire with my husband, our Spaniel and two very badly behaved cats, and we are currently expecting our first child.

I am really enjoying getting to know my new colleagues, our clients and their pets, and look forward to seeing you at the clinic soon.
