Meet the team

Monish Malhotra JVP Merry Hill

Monish Malhotra

Veterinary Surgeon & Partner

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College London in 2003. I worked in the Birmingham area in small animal practice for 2 years before I began locuming all over the UK to gain experience. I then worked and travelled around Australia and New Zealand for two and a half years - this was an amazing experience which allowed me to gain invaluable insight into differing clinical practices.

I enjoy being a vet general practitioner, especially the close interaction and relationship between vet and patient. I love providing an excellent service to all my clients and patients - both old and new.

Outside of work I am a sports enthusiast, love to read and am also a movie buff. My rescued Rottweiler, Beyonce, enjoys coming to work with me regularly.

Ionut Iurciuc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Iasi Romania in 2015. During my studies I’ve completed internships for both small and large animals. I became a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in London in March 2017 and soon I have the opportunity and pleasure to be employed with Companion Care Vets and their extraordinary team. Being a vet surgeon is the best challenge for me because I have to consult patients who do not speak, who can’t say in which area there are dysfunctions, patients who often react simply instinctively; so I must be able to "read" the clinical signs of the patient, interpret, diagnose, and intervene for solving the disease.

Like every happy owner I feel like I’ve achieved my purpose. I have my best friend Tasa, a 7 year old boxer, here in the UK with me. She is a lovely companion, the best partner for outdoor activities and my constant source of joy.

I qualified from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest, Romania. I spent the following two years working as a veterinary surgeon in a renowned small animal practice in Bucharest. This experience made me gain a lot more knowledge in my internal medicine and surgery!

It is a great pleasure for me to work in our Oldbury Clinic with such a great medical team. My love and passion for animals has become my work that’s the reason I love this job so much.

In my spare time I like to read, play tennis, to travel and spend quality time with my family. I am looking forward to meeting all owners and our pet-patients!

I was born & grew up in Lithuania, and have always dreamt of becoming a veterinary surgeon & working with animals since I was about ten years old. So after graduating secondary school, I entered the Lithuanian University of Heath sciences, which I graduated from in 2016. During my university years I did internships in small animal practices.

My experience comes from practice placements & voluntary work with small animals. I enjoy all aspects of small animal practices, but I have a particular interest in small animal surgery. In my spare time I enjoy photography, as well as walking and jogging. I have also rescued & adopted two elderly black cats which I love dearly!

In 2002 I graduated from the university of Agricultural Sciences & Veterinary Medicine. “Ion lonescu dela Brad’ ladi, in a beautiful country, Romania.

After graduation, I worked for a while in my country, then in 2011 I had the opportunity to come to England where I found a new job & I became a member of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in London.

I have recently joined Companion Care at Oldbury, where I have found a new great team who supports me a lot to deal with clinical cases everyday. I hope to develop new skills each and every day & gaining a lot of experience during next years, because I consider its very interesting & rewarding to be involved in a variety of caseload & interact with the owners and beloved pets.

In my spare time I enjoy watching comedies & travelling, visiting museums, visiting historical places together with my friends whenever possible. My favourite animals are horses and dogs.

Back in Romania I owned a little Pekingese that had been having heart problems since a very early age, however, thanks to permanent medication she reached the age of 16! Unfortunately, I have been always busy working & living in different areas of England I have no yet had another pet however, I hope this will soon change!

My professional interests lie in surgery and imaging and in my spare time I love to travel- one of the most amazing places where I have been are Elephants Rescue Centre in Sri Lanka & beautiful Greenland. During my winter time I like to do snowboarding & summer sailing.

I am very happy to be a new member of the Companion Care Team and I am going to do my very best to provide owners & their pets the highest level of care.

I thoroughly enjoy working between our three branches, especially conducting my weight loss and diabetic clinics as they allow me to build a close relationship with both owner and patient.

I am very fond of large breed dogs with a soft spot for Staffies, this stemming from my own crazy staff Marley. In my free time i enjoy dog walking and reading.

Liz Roberts BSc (Hons)

Practice Manager

I graduated from the University of Northampton in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Applied Animal Studies, and then started working at Companion Care/Vets4Pets in early 2013.

During my time at the practice, I have been involved in a variety of roles - from reception to nursing, and have now progressed to my current role as the manager. My role largely involves administration duties, & overseeing the general running of the practice. I also have the huge task of submitting & overseeing all the insurance claims at all our branches, & I am the resident insurance expert! I am passionate about growing our three practices, and am always looking to improve the care & service provided to our patients & owners.

I have a keen interest in dog behaviour & training, & have a particular soft spot for both spaniels and collies - I have previously owned several spaniels & currently own a rescue dog called Molly who is a 5 year-old Springer Spaniel cross Collie (pictured with me here). I also own a very fluffy, Norwegian Forest Cat called Cleo, two guinea pigs called Richmond and Moss, and 3 hamsters called Buffy, Willow, & Neville - all my pets are rescue animals, and most of them have various health problems or physical defects! In my spare time I also enjoy cooking & reading.

Dom Allen

Client Care Manager & Animal Nursing Assistant

I previously worked at Pets at Home and during that time I gained hands-on experience with numerous animals, and completed several animal-related exams. This experience in the animal industry reinforced my natural passion for animals and made me want to pursue a higher level of training. I am hoping to return to college to train as a fully-qualified vet nurse in the near future.

I am an avid video maker and most of my free time is spent making short films and videos. I'm also a huge football and boxing fan. I've always had a great love of animals which is shown through my large pet collection which consists of a Leonberger mountain dog, a Bengal cat, a rescue cat, two rabbits, two gerbils and a bearded dragon.

I completed a BTEC National Diploma in Animal Management at Halesowen College in 2011 & started working at our Oldbury surgery shortly after. I now split my time between the Oldbury & Merry Hill clinics. I feel very privileged to be working with such an amazing team of individuals & I thoroughly enjoy interacting with the clients and their animals & maybe having a cuddle or two!

I have a particular soft spot for larger dog breeds such as Saint Bernard's and Mastiffs. I volunteered in the equine industry for over 5 years before getting horses of my own. During this time I have also owned a variety of small animals including ferrets, guinea pigs, rats, gerbils, a hedgehog and currently live with my black cockapoo Milo and a cheeky English Lop rabbit who thinks he's a dog.

In my spare time I enjoy having a relaxing day down at the stables with my horses and playing pool on the weekend with friends.
