Joanna Manby BVSc BSc (Hons) MRCVS VNPA

Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

My name is Jo Manby and I'm the new partner and veterinary surgeon at Vets4Pets Woolwell. I live in Lvybridge with my partner Roger and two sons; 4 year old William and 1 year old Edward. I have a menagerie of animals; Ellie an excitable cockapoo, a tabby cat called Bruce, a Siamese called Saffie, a Ragdoll called Madison an English-Dutch cross rabbit called Gold, a giant continental rabbit called Alfred and 3 guinea pigs called Whinnie, Boo and Gandalf.

In my spare time I enjoy exploring the Devon countryside with my family but also like to keep active by jogging and playing netball. At work I have a special interest in rabbits and small furries and enjoy the challenges of different surgical procedures.

Leanne Burton RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Leanne qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2008 and joined the team in July 2014. In her spare time she loves baking & enjoys keeping fit. In 2013 she completed the Coniston Challenge which consisted of a 1 mile Kayak of Coniston water, 10k hike of Old Man of Coniston & 12k mountain bike ride through Grizdale Forrest.

Leanne has 4 cats who are called Collin, Winston, Pricilla & Narla. She also has a Siberian Husky called Lottie who everyone mistakes for a 6 month old puppy as she is tiny. She loves all her animals but also loves interacting with clients’ pets at work.

My favourite animal is definitely dogs; I love their different characters and working with them. I really enjoy training them also.

I have 5 dogs - a Deerhound called Grizzle, a Patterdale terrier called Hamish, a German Shepherd called Robbie, a Labrador called Freya and a Springer Spaniel called Ace. We also have 2 ferrets called Kevin and Neil.

What’s the best pets name you have come across?
A Labrador called Dave! I think its a great name for a Labrador.

What is your favourite famous animal?
Marley from Marley and Me

What’s the best aspect of working for Vets4Pets?
Meeting all the clients and animals and seeing children interacting with their pets. I love sending a pet home after an operation and the children take great care to listen carefully and do what’s best for their furry friend! The team is great and I have made some great friends working here.
