Vets4Pets Worthing

Meet the team

Eimear Humphreys

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

Having qualified from UCD in Dublin in 2009, I moved over to the UK to work solely in small animal practice.

I have since worked in small independent practice, larger small animal hospitals with emergency and locum work thrown in.

My job is varied and interesting, challenging and emotionally charged but that's what keeps it interesting!

I love piecing together the puzzle of the more intricate medical cases as well as the satisfaction of successful surgical cases. However, I get most pleasure from forming a bond not only with the pet but with their owner.

I really believe by encouraging this relationship we can ensure the best treatment plan and outcome, as each pet is an individual & each situation unique so treatment needs to be tailored accordingly.

At home I have 2 rescue dogs who keep me occupied & out of trouble, as although they are very happy friendly characters they are possibly not as well trained as they should be!

Mariana Redpath

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from FMV in Lisbon, Portugal in 2002. After my final thesis was submitted in 2003, I started work at a brand new small animal practice in Porto, right by the sea.

After 2 years there, I moved to the USA to undertake an externship at Ohio State University. That was a fantastic year but the need to be closer to home was greater so I returned to Europe to settle in the UK.

I have been living and working in the UK for nearly 12 years now and from 2011 I have lived near our lovely Worthing.

I have wanted to be a Veterinary Surgeon from a very young age (pretty much since I realised you could be one!) and it has been a pleasure and an honour to fulfil that dream. I spent much of my career working in Emergencies and Critical Care and I am hoping to finish a post graduate certification in that area soon; however I thoroughly enjoy the general practice setting as well as it allows for a much deeper connection.

This incredible relationship between vet surgeon, client and patient is genuinely rewarding and a huge motivator for me.

I am married and have a wonderful toddler that keeps me young and Ally, a mature Patterdale cross princess who has kept me sane for over 10 years. They certainly make life worthwhile and complete!

Laura Casey

Veterinary Nurse

Hi, my name is Laura. I started nursing in June 2003, working my way up from a student nurse, to a qualified nurse and then head nurse. I was at my previous practice for 15 years, so felt the time was right to continue my nursing experience at a brand new practice!

I have 4 beautiful pets at home, two chocolate Labradors and two cats, which all keep me very busy! They are all best friends too! In my spare time I like to walk my dogs, spend time with family and friends and also love looking after my niece, nephew and two god daughters!

Jade Mills

Head Veterinary Nurse

I started veterinary nursing in March 2008 in a busy referral on the south coast and I qualified from Myerscough College in August 2010.

After qualifying I worked there for 6 years, whilst there I was a practice nurse running nurse clinics including weight advice, nail clips, and dental checks. I also worked busy day, night and weekend shifts, I then transferred to one of the branches which I ran for 2 years.

Since nursing I have also been lucky enough to had experience with exotic and wild species including elephants, bears, birds of prey, lizards and meerkats to name a few.

In my spare time I like to spend time with my partner and my crazy cocker spaniel Phoebe who we take for walks along the beach and the downs, we also like to go camping in my campervan when we can.

I spend a lot of my time brushing and playing with my demanding fluffy Maine coon cat Meeko, who is the clumsiest cat I have ever met. I like to unwind at the gym and I love to cook for friends and family when I can and chill with a movie when I have time.

Kim Tarr

Hi my name is Kim and I’m happily married with three grown up children and five grandchildren with whom I love to spend as much of my spare time with as I can.

I’ve worked in veterinary care for the last eight years and I am so excited to be working for Vets4Pets Worthing.

I have three cats, two dogs, a tortoise and a bearded dragon at home all of which are totally spoiled.

My Dad owns 30 acres of land, which is home to pigs, ducks, chickens, sheep, and a pony , so a lot of my free time is spent helping my Dad, which I love.

In memory of Becky Dodson

Becky will always be part of our work family.
The memory of her will never fade; the sound of her voice or the way she threw her head back slightly when she laughed wholeheartedly; her relentless energy and her fierce love and dedication to her family; her undying smile. Those things will remain with us forever.
Even though her physical absence will continue to cause us unspeakable pain, her spirit will carry on – we will make sure of it by honouring her in every step we take.
We are a team and Becky will always be a part of it.

Stephanie Waplington

Veterinary Care Assistant

Hi, my name is Steph. I have been in the veterinary industry for 10 years, I have worked as a receptionist and I am now working as a veterinary care assistant which I really enjoy! I have three crazy cats at home who keep me more than occupied!

I’m hoping to win the lottery so I can open up my own cattery and rescue center for all the lovely strays out there! In my spare time I look after my two daughters, aged one and two. I also like to go out with my friends.

Owen Tobias

Veterinary Care Assistant

Hi, my name is Owen. I love working with animals and my ambition is to become a vet! I have 3 pets at home, a tortoise called Phoebe and two cats, called Imbiss and Roxy. In my spare time I love being in the fresh air at WWT in Arundel and spending time with my family and friends. I have also volunteered at Brent Lodge and WADARS.

I am really enjoying my first job in the veterinary industry as there is always something interesting going on. I enjoy talking to the clients but my favorite part of my job is caring for the patients.

Henrietta Jones

Hi my name is Henrietta, I am a new wife and a mummy, so now I am a Jones! I have a gorgeous family which include my husband Dale, my 14 month old baby boy called Theo and my very loud, talkative Bengal cat called Buddy.

I enjoy spending my time going to playgroups, being with my family and friends, having BBQs in the summer or going for picnics in the park with my baby boy.

Previously I worked as an administrator but took a year out to focus on being a full time mummy. I have not worked in a Veterinary Practice before but I am looking forward to a challenge! I love all furry animals and would love to have an African Pygmy Hedgehog. :)
