Wrexham JVP

Rebecca Hughes MRCVS

Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified in 2001 at Liverpool University and have worked in Mold, Manchester and Altrincham. My heart is in North Wales so opening a practice in Wrexham was the perfect opportunity for me.

I have enjoyed growing the business since opening in 2013 and take pride in the expertise and quality of service we are able to offer our clients. I am passionate about my job as a vet and am a keen surgeon. I also have an interest in veterinary acupuncture. I take pride in my job and enjoy building good relationships with clients and their pets.

Outside of work I am busy with my family which consists of 2 dogs, 2 cats, a peregrine falcon, a husband and a daughter. I am an avid road cyclist and runner and try to get out as much as I can.

Emma Hall

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified at Liverpool University in 2005 and since then I have worked solely in small animal practice in Greater Manchester and Cheshire. I joined the practice in January 2015.

I love being a small animal vet and I am particularly passionate about surgery. I gained my RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (General Small Animal Surgery) in December 2012. I am also an RCVS listed Advanced Practitioner.

Outside of work I enjoy walking Timo (my border collie), doing DIY with my husband and going on holidays abroad, especially to wine-producing areas.

Rachel Adams

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from Bristol University in 2009 and have since worked as a mixed animal vet in Barnsley, Essex and Cheshire.

I have just returned from 6 months travelling and have now joined my friend and Colleague Rebecca here in Wrexham. I enjoy working with all animals and have 2, soon to be 3 dogs; Ruby the Jack Russell, Dolly the Lurcher and the newest addition; Pizza, a diabetic Thai dog who will be joining us at the end of the year. I love the outdoors and spend a lot of time walking with my partner Matt and the dogs. I also enjoy cycling, baking and looking after the veggie patch.

Charlotte Crimes

Head Veterinary Nurse

I have been with the practice since we opened in April 2013 and love being part of the team here. I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1998 from Llandrillo College and started my career in a mixed animal practice in North Wales where I stayed for 10 years. I moved to Manchester working in a small animal practice before starting at a large referral hospital where I was trained in dermatology and gained considerable experience in this field.

I have a keen interest in skin and ear problems, laboratory work, diagnostic procedures and critical care. When I am not working I look after my two cats Marco and Stewie. I enjoy cooking, reading, walking and spending time with my family and friends.

Jordan Francis

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I have always wanted to work with animals and after leaving school, I attended Llysfasi College where I studied a National Diploma in Animal Management. After college I decided to go to Harper Adams University to study a foundation degree in Veterinary Nursing qualifying in 2014.

I obviously really enjoyed my time there as I decided to stay on an extra year and gained a Batchelor of Science Honours degree in Veterinary nursing and practice management. I have always worked within North Wales as a proud welsh girl and on the Shropshire border in Oswestry, joining Vets4Pets Plas Coch in 2015.

I really enjoy working here and work hard to ensure your pets get the same attention and care as I would give my own. I really enjoy nursing clinics and getting to know the animals as well as the clients. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and my own animals as well as horse riding and playing netball for my local club.

Practice Manager

I have been with Wrexham Plas Coch Vets4Pets since it opened in 2013. It’s great to be part of such an amazing team.

I can honestly say I love it! Every day brings something new and meeting our clients and getting to know them and their pets is one of the best parts of the job.

Outside of work I love baking and spending time with family and friends and my cat Fluffy.

Animal Nursing Assistant

Hi, I have always wanted to work with animals. When I left school i worked in a referral vets on the Wirral and went on day release to college once a week to do my Small Animal Care diploma for a year. I then went to work in another referral practice near Frodsham as an animal nursing assistant. After a few years I decided to have a little change in career and went into equine grooming, where I have worked with some lovely polo ponies belonging to two professional polo players within Cheshire polo club. At the end of the summer season I got my job here as an animal nursing assistant, with one day being able to do my veterinary nurse training. With having a menagerie of pets at home from chickens and ducks in the garden to 3 dogs, a tortoise and a rabbit indoors. I also own a few horses which I keep on a local yard.

Niamh Holmes

Veterinary Care Assistant

Whilst growing up I always saw working with animals in my future! Since leaving school I have worked in a couple of vet practices before joining Vets4Pets Plas Coch in April 2016 as a Veterinary Care Assistant, and I enjoy every minute of it!

The clients we have and the colleagues I work with make my job very enjoyable, not to mention the lovely pets I see and care for on a daily basis. I live at home with our crazy dogs - Beenie the greyhound and Bob who is a Staffordshire bull terrier; they make quite the pair and certainly keep us on our toes! When I’m not walking them with my lovely family I can be found either in the kitchen decorating cakes, or in my bedroom drawing and painting!

I joined Vets4Pets in July 2015 after working at Pets at Home since 2008 (so if my face looks familiar – that’s probably why!) The best part of my job is seeing all our lovely clients with their pets, meeting new ones and watching their journey with us.

I also work in the kennels and the treatment area - I absolutely love spending time with your pets whilst in our care and give them the same love and attention I would give my own. At home I have a cat called Gwenny who came to the vets as a stray at the end of 2015 - she is amazing and I’ll admit I’m obsessed with her!

I have recently just adopted another cat called Penny from Cats Protection. In my spare time I love going to the gym and I participate in classes there. I enjoy going out with friends and forcing them to come to the gym with me! I have a great family who I love hanging out with and not to mention, being with my two fur babies.

I have recently joined the Vets 4 Pets Plas Coch team as a receptionist after working for Pets at Home for 4 years. No day is the same at the practice but by far the most rewarding part of my job is getting to know the pets and their owner’s and making sure that they always receive excellent care no matter the reason for their visit.

Pets are my passion both at work and at home and we currently have 15 fur babies and 4 scaled friends who are all a little quirky but I wouldn’t have them any other way.
