Time to have fun

Play is far more than just a way to kill time. It’s one of the most important ways your puppy learns about the world. By rough-and-tumbling through a range of different activities, your pet will discover all kinds of things about the world. It all adds up to a happier, healthier adult dog, as well as a rewarding, fun-loving puppy.

Health and fitness

Physical play is a great way to make sure your puppy gets plenty of exercise, giving its whole body a fun workout. Whether it’s jumping or pouncing after a ball, chasing sticks or disappearing under a pile of cardboard boxes, playtime is when your puppy burns energy, builds muscles and forms a stronger bond with people.

What to play

Your puppy will enjoy different kinds of activities as it grows, so make sure you offer plenty of variety when joining in its games. Fetch, tug-of-war, running and chasing are all fun, but match the level of activity with your puppy’s age and build. Young dogs can tire quickly, so allow plenty of rest time as well as all the leaping around.

Puppy toys

There is a huge variety of toys available for puppies and dogs, from things to chew and chase to toys they can snuggle or tug. Any toy you give to your puppy must be safe – make sure they can’t swallow it or pull it apart! You certainly don’t need to spend a huge amount of money as a good old fashioned ball is affordable and always great fun!
