I am Elena Cortese and I became JVP in Aintree in September 2023. I started my adventure here in Uk since 2015. After two years being involved in Animal Welfare and Animal Health area working as Official Veterinarian, I decided to move to the small animal practice. I am currently studying the Internal Medicine Certificate. I am also Official Veterinarian for Export Health Certificate (EHC) and Animal Health Certificate (AHC) and I have supported hundreds of Clients in their travels to Europe and the rest of the World issuing those Certificates.
About me, I have graduated the University of Parma in 2011 and in the same year I have started an internship in a practice in South Italy.
I spend my free time walking in the nature with my dog Thor and cooking.
I am happy to help you with your pets and to answer all the questions you need.
Dr Antonio

Hi, my name is Antonio, and I became one of the JVP's here in Aintree in September 2023. I am also a JVP in Companion Care Salford since September 2019. I moved from Italy to the UK in 2015. I am very happy to see our lovely clients and I want to make sure I provide the best treatment and care to their pets.
Just a bit about me so you can know me better, I graduated from the university of Parma in 1998. I have gained a masters in anaesthesia and pain therapy at the university of Pisa in 2015. I am also a specialist in infectious diseases - university of Bari 2013 and I have a special interest in emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery, as I am continuing with expanding my knowledge within these areas.
In October 2022 I achieved the General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery with the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies in the UK, and In February 2023 I obtained the Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery with Harper Adams University in the UK.
I will always be here to support you and your pets throughout your journey, and make sure they will get the best treatment and care from all our team.
Kalimera! I’m Dimitrios Tachos, and I’m from Trikala, a medium-sized city in central Greece. Growing up in a farming family, becoming a vet was always my dream, and I have studied Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at the University of Thessaly in Greece, where I graduated in 2012. After my graduation, I moved to England, and after working for a few years with large animals, I decided to dedicate myself to small animals. During my working years as a small animal vet, I have gained experience in all kinds of veterinary topics, but my main interest is internal medicine and imaging. In 2022, I moved for a year to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where I further developed my skills, especially in emergency care, and also had the opportunity to come into contact with a lot of different nationalities and mindsets. Since September 2023, I have moved back to the U.K. and to Aintree Vets for Pets to join a veterinary partnership with some of my old colleagues and friends. A new journey has started, and I'm excited to live it. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your lovely pets in our practice!
Hi I'm Zara one of the vets here at Aintree VetsforPets! I graduated from the University of Nottingham in July 2025 and moved back home to Liverpool shortly after to begin my career working in small animal practice. I joined the team here at Aintree VetsforPets in February 2026 and am loving every second! I have always wanted to be a vet- as an annual attendee of Crufts growing up I think it was definitely written in the stars. My main interests in small animal medicine include emergency care and surgery- I am very excited to work alongside practice owner Antonio in order to gain more experience with specialised soft tissue surgery. I also have a soft spot for senior pets (the golden oldies!) and enjoy seeing these pets regularly in order to keep them pain free and happy into their golden years.
Outside of being a vet, I love to travel and just last summer spent 3 months living and working in Thailand (with the tattoos to prove it!) whilst I attained my scuba diving qualifications. On a weekend can also find me attending my weekly cuban salsa class and exploring every coffee shop Liverpool has to offer! I look forward to meeting all the clients at Aintree and their lovely pets.

Hi my name is Megan, I am one of the Client Care Assistants here at Aintree. I have worked in veterinary practice for nearly 3 years now and really enjoy assisting our clients. I also assist Lyndsey our Client Care Manager with processing insurance claims for our clients, which I enjoy. I have a Cocker Spaniel called Rolo and a cat called Khaleesi, outside of work I enjoy walking Rolo and looking after my two children.
